ANybody think the same?? Please someone tell me I'm not alone here....

When I first saw it I also didn't like it. But the more I saw it the more I started liking the new design.

I'm excited about the volume buttons.

I think they switched to simple round buttons so they can be mapped for multipurpose use, like a shutter button for the camera, etc.

The round buttons are the last feature I still don't really like. Hopefully I can get over that, since I am planning on finally joining the 21st century and dropping the RAZR for an iPhone.

I'm not sure I care for the look of it. Perhaps when I see it during the keynote, I'll change my opinion, but for now, I'm not that jazzed up about it.

I think it looks great.

I'm really hoping the back isn't plastic anymore.

And the buttons? I guess I just really don't care.

From what I've seen, I find it pretty ugly. However, my mind might change when I see it in person.

The volume buttons have always been separated expect it was on a rocker. It looks like they removed the rocker and placed normal buttons in its place.

I like the new design. Looks to be more like an uni body design. Lets hope for a larger screen. (with an option of the current 3.5 screen of course ;) )

I think they made the buttons circular and totally separate so it will make more sense when they are used for a wide variety of new things, like buttons in games, camera shutter switch, video zoom, etc.

I agree actually. I do not find it very attractive. I'm hoping I will change my mind when I see it :)

I'm sure all will love it when Steve pulls it out and it's dripping with unicorn dust and sparkling like the gadget we all want and don't need.

...but will buy.

$10 says you and nearly everyone else who says it's ugly will change their mind once official shots of it are out and you see one in person.

I agree with that. I do think it's ugly now, but I've thought that about a number of apple products and changed my mind when seeing one in person. Somehow the pictures just often don't do justice.

The final design could very well be a little different, because it could have been a very early prototype, but we will all find out this coming Monday. But if that is the final design, than it looks like the Zagg is going to be a lot easier to go on this time around thanks to the flat back. And with that glass back, I will definitely be protecting that as soon as it comes out of the box.

Now I just gotta sell my 6 1/2 month old 3G S⃣ :( I wish Apple would release a new iphone at least every 2 years, this every year business sucks. I wonder what is in store for June 2011 now?

I'll be buying it regardless, because Apple has my life under contract with them, lol. The software is fabulous, but the ID of this thing looks like it was made from scrap parts, not crafted and designed by an industrial designer. It doesn't match anything in Apple's line up. If it had a slight curve on the back like the iPad, with some unibody goodness, I'd believe it's real. And because it's anodized, they could do it black or white.

I'm just not seeing it fellas :(

I always back Apple 100%. But this 'thing'...I just don't know. June 7th will tell all I guess...

Actually it looks exactly like the ipad

I hope it will be slightly curved like the current iPhone and the iPad. I also hope that its current flatness is a decoy, like they do when testing cars, in the event anyone talked about it or found it (which actually happened, yes).

The current volume rocker has them separate. If you remove the current volume rocker (sliver plastic peace) so you can see the circuit board you will see what I mean. Volume up and down NEEDS to be separate for oblivious reasons.

all Apple did was remove that sliver pace and replaced it with separate buttons

Maybe not ugly, but sure don´t look like an Apple product. More like Nokia or something else. Personally I think 2G, 3G and iPad are much sexier.

Also it´s funny how people force themselves to like the new design. :D

I didn't like it at first either but the styling makes it look different than any other phone on the market. The aluminum gives it a high end look and feel. The bezel-less front and back make it look like a slab of glass and adds to the sleekness factor. The current iPhone is plastic, which makes it feel cheap and tacky. The plastic chrome volume rocker looks very flashy. It looked good when we saw it two years ago but not anymore. Aluminum materials allow them to make it thinner yet retain rigidity. I remember jail breaking a friends iPhone 3G and couldn't help but notice how thick it seemed.

I just wish it didn't have those rubber lines (/seams), if it's supposed to be a design based off of the iPad, why doesn't the iPad have this lines...?

A huge improvement over the 3G/S plastishell.

I too loved the original design, but I like this one too.

I still don't see how it looks anything like the iPad...

but anyways, like someone else said, I think they're going to make use of the volume rockers in the camera app. once you're in the camera app, you probably aren't using them anyways... so might as well put some use into them ;)

so what i was thinking was, one button could be to take a pic, and another would be to enable/disable flash? who knows.
