I have noticed the same. It drains FAST.

I just charged it to 100%... Unplugged it and let it sit there, didn't even light the screen up and in 45 minutes it dropped to 96%.

Wifi, 3G, One exchange push account, iCloud but only for Find My iphone, Siri and Bluetooth on but not paired...

That seems like a LOT for not even unlocking the phone.

Insane. But listen to this! I went to sleep at half 1AM with the phone @ 70%. Wifi on, 3g on (its always on), bluetooth off, push email on.

Woke up at 730 and the phone was DEAD. I charged it up to 30% asap, then fell back asleep from 8-9. when I woke up it was still 30%.

Very confused!

I exactly had the same tonight. The only difference my phone was about 60% when I went to bed.

I got the same battery problems as other describe, in an hour I got an approximate 5% battery drain, just sleeping with both 3G Data and BT on. No push mail or any other things on.

This problem is new for me, cause my iPhone with iOs5 GM did very well with the battery. (Besides the Lion battery drain, which is offtopic ;))

I've been having great battery life with is 4S. Overnight it lost 2%. Been using it all day and it's about 85% now.

Yeah quite a few people have reported this overnight thing. I'll see what the drop is tonight. I'm just putting it down to it being new for the time being. Needs a cycle or two :).

My iPhone 4s battery is draining something terrible. I had a flight to London this morning when I put my phone on airplane mode the battery was at 97%, when I landed about an hour and a half later the battery was sitting at 82% without me touching the phone.

How is that Apple's fault?

Because a case is meant to protect something, not cause marks to it!!

Apple know about the problem, there are numerous threads online. Even the guy I spoke to at apple said he knew of the issue

could be software im sure there will be a fix soon of bugs 5.1/2 ect..

as for batteries i do the same break in like i do in my rc battery...when you get the iphone first time dont drain the battery down to 20% or lower/were it completely dies..take it easy on the battery dont over use it hard on gaming..when the battery gets around 30% charge it use the iphone charger or plug to macbook/pc/laptop dont use ipad charger yet due to its a bit higher amp rating and the battery is not ready for a higher amp rating yet. you can use it but i dont recommend it..when the battery is 100% its not really 100% its still around 80+% or so but you can unplug it and use it..repeat this like 7/10 times till you get good cycels going on..after that you can drain battery to dead but dont leave it completely dead charge it right away..when the battery is 100% at this time after the cycles i would give it another 20/30 mins of charging to get max 100% charge in the battery...after that you can use the ipad charger for fast charging and the battery can handle it more efficiently..dont use the ipad charger every time..#1 rule dont keep it plug to charger all the time it will shorten the life of the battery..batteries need to be cycled...also i recommend a you calibrate/trickle charge the iphone battery once every week or 2..

battery drain depends on your setting/usage/brightness/push ect..

still have a 3GS battery still rocking strong :):apple:

hope my little tip helps..works for me..:apple:

One should not be surprised that as Apple added more Android-like features the battery life gets more Android-like too.

Siri likes to call phone sex lines and visit video chat sites while you sleep

I am going to have to support the notion of plugging in your phone when you sleep. If you will not do it when sleeping when will you do it? In which case you are going to have monumental battery issues

53 minutes of usage: 5 minute phone call, and some light web browsing
9 hours, 24 minutes of standby
Battery level is now at 86%, is this normal? Doesn't add up to 8 hours of talk time, and far from 9 hours of wifi web browsing.

EDIT: Been connected to wifi all day, I have bluetooth, and location services off. iCloud and email set to fetch every hour.

That sounds pretty good lol

With the new technology in the batteries today you don't have to worry about taxing the battery hard right off the bat. These batteries they use today can take it. I would charge the battery right when I got the phone and then run it down however you like then recharge. Nothing new. I'm willing to bet its some sort of software issues and not hardware related.

Make sure bluetooth is actually off. I thought mine was off because I didn't see the sign but in settings it was actually turned on. That made the biggest difference.

I put my sim back my ip4 last night, which for the record is jailbroken on 4.3.3. Same settings, same brightness level (not that that should make a difference!), battert drop over the same period....7%!

And for those of you who say plug it on overnight, i usually do but the fact that the 4s was on 100% when i went to bed made me assume it didnt really need an overnight top up

what in the world is half 1AM?

Same problem!!! My iPhone 3G!!!uses less battery!

Wifi/bt off, one push email, notifications on.
1day standby, 1:45h usage ...... 55% remaining!!!

Plus!! I have the brightness on not even 2 out of 10!!

Half past 1 am? 1:30am lol.

Anyway, last night went to sleep, good 8 hours. It was at 52% when I went to sleep, woke up 8 hours later at 45%. Drop of 7%. Seemed quite reasonable.
