I contacted my AT&T CS regarding AT&T iPhone 4s unlock,

Me: I would like to take my new iPhone 4s out of the country this Dec, can you guys offer to unlock my new iPhone 4s like Verizion and Sprint? And I have been a good customer with you guys for 7 years.

AT&T: Let me check with my supervisor..... 3 mins later. SORRY, we currently don't offer to unlock any Apple product, but you can unlock it from someone else.

Me: What do you mean by someone else?:)

AT&T: Just google "Jailbreak iPhone", you will find a lots information about it.

Me: ..... Speechless:(

:D
Hahaha.. good laugh for me today.. hahhaha

Just because 1 representative says something, doesn't meant the AT&T condone it. Granted, he should not have said that, however it is not official AT&T stance.

TheDude73: Was the VNZ activation process easy? I gotta transfer my cell number from my POS BlackBerry to the iPhone.

OP, congrats bro! I am envious! I bet the last thing you thought about today was receiving your phone early! Am I wrong? Oh yeah, take that puppy apart and check for an Apple sticker on the chip. ;) Joke!!!!:D

I can't wait now! I'm ready to mash some new iphone buttons now! :)

The AT&T thing is no joke. Especially when you're on the receiving side of such a suggestion...

My phone was locked and way past contract. I planned on taking it to another carrier overseas and they told me to jailbreak it. There's just something so wrong and unprofessional about an AT&T employee encouraging something like that just so I can use MY phone the way I want to.

Now my GPS doesn't work since my baseband is updated... And I'm missing out on iOS. I'll be going to Sprint for my iPhone 4S.

Been with them for a while. Left them back in 2007 to get the iPhone 3G, but AT&T's service was awful where we lived, so we went back to Verizon and suffered through a Droid Incredible until the iP4 released earlier this year. Wife is keeping her iP4 - I sold my iP4 on eBay for $305 and got the iP4S for $358.11 (they charge sales tax on the full retail price, although I only paid $299.99).

Congrats on the early delivery! I bought my 64 GB in California too, but I had it shipped to my parents house in Pennsylvania and they are going to priority mail it to me. I'll have to wait a couple days longer , but I saved about 50 dollars in tax (the tax was only 23 in PA would have been about 70 in CA lol).

Nice of him to tell you something that's impossible right now. First jailbreaking is NOT unlocking, second there is neither a jailbreak nor unlock for the iphone 4s yet.

Those data speeds are abysmal. Now I'm considering returning my VZW 4S and going ATT.

need to read the disclaimer on the bottom. He was in a building that has bad signal. It would of been bad on AT&T as well.

AT&T will be faster but not by much.

I have a flacky AT&T signal in my house. On my Atrix I pulled 0.438 down and .582 up and that honestly is pretty good. I have seen numbers lower inside the house on test.

If I step out side and walk down the street a little ways I can max out the server I am speed testing off of but I have gotten numbers in the 7Mbit range before.

I sat next to my friend tonight - he with his AT&T iP4, me with my VZW iP4S. Smoked him.

Hmm...I just found this:

It says it was updated October 11...but it doesn't list Sprint as a US carrier, so it may not be accurate.

OP, this page says: "After a carrier applies an unlock, connecting your iPhone to iTunes allows iTunes to unlock your iPhone. iTunes displays the "unlock complete" message above the first time you connect a newly unlocked iPhone (or an unlocked iPhone that has been restored)."

Let us know :)

Did not get that tonight.

TheDude, would you mind trying out something on Siri for me? My co-workers and I were trying to come up with things to ask/say to it hoping to get responses like the 2001 and Hitchhikers references.

What happens when you tell Siri "The cake is a lie"?

Tried this 6 times, Siri keeps thinking I'm saying "the cake is alive", then tells me where the nearest pastry shops are.

On VZW 3G:

Ping: 99 ms

Download: 0.21 Mbps

Upload: 0.02 Mbps

Not too good, but signal is notoriously bad for everyone in this building. Will do one from home with all 5 bars later.

Interested to see how it does from your home - which area of the country do you live? Still trying to decide on Verizon or AT&T. Like AT&T speed but like Verizon unlock

From home, 3G VZW:

Ping: 75 ms

DL: 0.99 Mbps

UL: 0.84 Mbps

I'm in SoCal

Via VZ FiOS Wi-fi:

Ping: 17 ms

DL: 13.64 Mbps

UL: 5.33 Mbps
