Choke on that...

Choke on THAT people who bitched that the 4S was a bad decision and that their "stocks will plummet" because of no iPhone 5...

You can kiss the iPhone 4S's Shiny Apple Bottom!

I think this says it all...

That was the line outside UPS ten minutes before closing. Not an Apple store, not AT&T, Verizon, Bestbuy, Walmart, but the UPS hub office at 7:20pm. Everyone was there for the 4s. They had them stacked on a table behind the counter in anticipation.

Apple accomplished some crazy things today. I'd say they earned it, literally.

Yeah. You are great because you like that Apple fanboys are crazy!!

So tell me why YOU CARE about the stock price.

Tony
The stock price assures me that when I'm buying an Apple product, I'm probably buying something from a company with longevity. Generally speaking, a company whose stock price went up is worth more today than yesterday.

I mean, why would you buy a car from a company that is languishing in federal bankruptcy protection?

AAPL blows doors on the Nasdaq-100 and S&P 500 indexes. I will also point out that Apple has zero debt and is sitting on over $70 billion in cash. At some point in your life, you will probably personally experience a situation where the expression "cash is king" will be relevant.

Moreover, Apple liberally uses stock option grants as incentives to employees for excellent performance. When the stock price goes up, the value of these options increase. Let's not forget that regular Apple employees also have an ESPP and many are outright owners of shares, regardless of where their option grants are.

Increasing stock prices translates in the ability to hire and retain the best high tech employees in the job market. Note that Apple's revenue per employee is astronomical compared to the competition in their industry sector.

Because I hate that my iPhone 4S is so already outdated after Day 1 and I'm friggin' tied to the Apple eco-system and all of you cultists feed on things like stock prices being up which fuels Apple into following their path of not giving us the most current technology because they know we'll buy these friggin' outdated phones anyway.

So tell me why YOU CARE about the stock price.

I don't... well I wish I had bought some in 1998... but otherwise, I just enjoy rubbing it in the faces of the D-bags who were deluded enough NOT to understand how Apple has done business in the last 10 years. They don't redesign a product sooner than 2 years and bitching, whining and complaining by the internet dweebs won't ever change that (well while Steve Jobs was in charge, who knows what will happen now).

You spoiled D*icks that happily danced on the impending grave of Apple now have to eat crow and that personally makes me smile. Not cause I'm an Apple fanboy but because this shuts you ******s up.

course, and unused SERI.OMFG!!!
I hope to god Apple makes it where we can create spreadsheets with it using numbers. OMFG!!!!"
Can someone say the SERI App store. OMFG!!

Wow. I give up. Be happy in your ignorant bliss people and your idolization of a company instead of caring about the product produced.

A pleasant evening to all. :)

You should check the dosage on your meds.

AAPL closed with a market cap of $391.23 billion; XOM (ExxonMobil) at $379.78B.

The iPhone 4 has the highest customer satisfaction ratings of all smartphones just like previous iPhone models. Most likely, the iPhone 4S will also top the customer satisfaction surveys.

Same with pretty much every single Apple product line. Highest customer satisfaction ratings in the class.

And remember, Apple is growing business; something like half of all Mac purchases in a bricks-and-mortar Apple Store are going to first-time Mac buyers. Same with iPhone ownership growth. Those increases in sales are coming at the expense of another smartphone manufacturer (or from feature phone users upgrading to smartphones).

Apple's performance isn't due to a handful of worshippers/fanboys. It's from Joe Consumer who really doesn't care about specs, etc.

Let the AAPL shareholders stub their toes tripping over large sacks of money. They can sell a share, buy some bandages.

I never said I care about stock prices. Please don't put words in my mouth what I was saying was if you hate apple so much why do you care about the shares prices. Also calling me a "cultist" is not going to make me feel bad, just because I said if you don't like apple then why are you an apple base website?.
On a side note what apple does well is not put the best specs out there but the level of optimization for the hardware is THE BEST,my galaxy s 2's android is not optimized for the hardware please do some research next time.

good for apple. I remember buying apple back in 1999 when it was around 50 bucks. Then one day in 2000, the stock took a 50% dive and didn't recover until later 2003. I sold it off when it was at 23 dollars in 2003 cuz i didn't want to deal with it anymore... Hind sight is always 40/40. Oh well :(

Will these shares ever reach $1000 I wonder?

Just mulling over whether or not it's worth investing now considering the amount of money we're talking about. As always with such things, it's about the long game.

It's all funny money until you cash out. Sell now - Apple will be irrelevant in 10 years. With Stevbe Jobs gone and Apple significantly lagging behind technology at an increasingly slower pace, the current cult of 15-20 years old will grow up and move elsewhee.
Tony

You might hold the record for the most baseless claims made on MacRumors in a day. Typically when we make assertions, we back them up using evidence or historical trends. What you're saying about the "current cult" of teenagers has nothing backing it up. Any statistics show that Apple users are among the most loyal in the industry; that directly contradicts what you're saying.

Please stop with your knee-jerk "Apple is always wrong and bad!" mantra and actually assess the situation objectively. I bet you won't be as bitter.

It might take 3-4 years, but yeah, AAPL should get there. AAPL has outperformed the Nasdaq-100 and S&P 500 for many years, no plausible reason to believe it can't continue its typical growth.

Remember, just a little over a year ago (August 2010), these shares were about $240, 245 or so.

Dear Apple Fanboys,

You are not the ONLY ones who have contributed to the success of Apple.

No surprise that the stock is going up after the most successful handset launch in history...

I promise to sell if it hits 1000. Any more than that would be greedy.

The question is what would propel it to by far the most dominant company in the world. Maybe something to replace the silly cell towers. Like Apple drones beaming down from a real cloud.

Or making stuff in the US, Europe, Russia as well as China. It is time.

Or getting into a non-computer business like perhaps alternative energy. Geothermal is attractive. Works day and night, even in a nuclear winter scenario, non-polluting, isn't made in China. No hazardous waste. We have a giant thermal plant right below our feet. A no-brainer. Apple Inner Earth Energy Corp. Why isn't this obvious? Do it right here in CA. Own Texas and the Gulf states. Millions of jobs, Apple the hero of the world. And I'll be real rich, but will spend it wisely. I promise.

That's amazing. Steve would be proud.

Siri seems to be making waves. Here's hoping Apple brings some of the magic back to the desktops sometime soon!

Haha, that's a good laugh.

You're an instigator, obviously, but you should at least make an attempt at grammar and spelling. Who's going to take you seriously when you can't even express whatever your point is?

Huh? I accidentally put a b in Steve and missed r in where. Is THAT what you are talking about? Jeez you guys really are nuts. Grabbing onto ANYTHING like an added keystroke to make your point. Have fun with your 3.5" screen, no 4G and ignorant bliss.

Did you sell today? It's not money till you sell. I'm really curious, not trying to be a smart a**.
Say what you like.

I have the pleasure of doing the math.

Even it it dropped significantly tommorow & I decide to bail out, I bought a massive number of shares when it was selling for a record high (in those days) of $19.00 per share. Adding in more and more year after year, never in my wildest dreams did I envision these prices.

That said I take no credit, I simply listened to my broker. He earned every penny of his commissions. Serving my family for years I'm glad I listened.

Why the **** did you buy an iPhone 4S? Did someone hold a gun to your head and force you to? You sound like an absolute moron. I'd be embarrased about complaining about how 'horribly outdated' the product I just bought is- did you spend 5 minutes to even research what the hell it is you're buying before you did so?? What exactly did you buy the phone based on, a figment of your imagination? And you call everyone that actually knew what they were buying, and are satisfied with their purchase a cultist? What the hell does that make you? You're either an absolute liar (ie. you didn't buy the phone) or an utter idiot. Pick one.

How the hell is this person not banned yet?

I thought about buying stocks in apple when it was at $80 and I didn't cause I was scared and wouldn't have much to invest. But even buying a couple @ 80 and having it jump up so much now it would be worth it!

Um..It's called the ecosystem. I have about 300 DRM protected TV shows and movies that I don't want to have to replace. Simple really. I've invested in the iPhone expecting it to keep pace. And I get pissed when it does not.

I bought the 4S simply because of the fact that it had 64 GB and my ties to the DRM protected content. If the next iPhone does not keep up with the competition next round, I'm switching and eating my losses.

You sir are the moron for caring more about COMPANY than the PRODUCT. It literally makes absolutely no sense. Sit back and think about it before mindlessly responding. I like my Sanyo microwave a lot, but I could care less what Sanyo does as a company. Yeah - think about THAT for a minute and see how crazy it would seem if I did. That's you.

how is it behind this "Holy 4g "that you speak of is not in many countries yet and nfc oh please that isn't any faster or convenient you do realize that A5 chip destroys all other dual core chips?btw why did you not reply to my other post are you scared that I am right?

Well 4G is where I am and many Android phones have it. Why wouldn't you want that option if you could turn it off if not needed? Because Apple tells you that? And I do like phone core speed but "slightly faster" doesn't a lot of significant real usage practicality. Much more important is screen size and internet speed.

What other posts are you talking about? I'll respond if you readdress what points you want me to respond to.

How about just continuing to grow in their existing markets. There is no reason they can't hit $1000 without releasing any new products. If they do come out with something new... then the sky is the limit. Maybe they will take Siri to the next level and release a real Android.
