Got mine today. After going through the activation process, it shows the phone as not having a number. I haven't had any service in the hour it's been on.

I didn't transfer my sim from my 3G to the 4S. Does that need to be done?

try disabling the pin code for your sim...

Try disabling the PIN code in the Phone settings. I had the same problem and that worked for me!

No Service

Getting the same problems here in the UK on Vodafone for the past couple of days.
Loses the network constantly despite taking advice here in removing the PIN code and manually choosing the network.
I did update to 5.0.1 though that was a few days before this started happening.
Should I get the phone switched out or is this a software problem?

Hey,
I also was having this issue and so was my brother. After waiting a few hours i figured it was not still activating so i did this:

1. Go to settings then Carrier

2. Change the search method from Automatic to Manual and wait for Service Provider list to pop up

3. Select your Operator

4. Service then begins and I just switched it back to Auto

Hope this helps

Derek
