I got this same message, I really don't know what this means. I didn't choose any reserver options. I clicked on the button that said "Ship it to me". Maybe they are doing this to just get initial orders in and then when things settle down have you complete the purchase.

Why am I unable to complete my order right now?

What will determine my eligibility?
If you are starting a new account with your carrier, they will run a credit check using the billing information that you have provided and confirm that service is available in your area. A carrier deposit may be required. If you are buying an iPhone for an existing carrier line, they will confirm that your account is in good standing and determine, based on where you are in your carrier contract, the price for which you are eligible.

Trying to call 1800-MY-APPLE but they're just hanging up on me due to call volume. Way to go Apple, way to go.

I'm on my 4th round of trying to order on apple site, got as far as selecting it to be shipped, very frustrating!!
 
Its looking like in store pick up of the phone is not possible?

At least you've gotten to try 4 times...I'm on time 2, "wait while we process your request". How come I have this feeling I'm going to have AT&T think I've upgraded, but Apple think I haven't completed the order process yet.

can't upgrade a family shared data line on apple site. anyone get through on Sprint?

On my fifth try now, and now they are posting a message saying that they are receiving high volumes of iPhone orders and it may take up to a minute to retrieve you information from AT&T. If only it was a minute...
