No, it's not way better. 4S is built better. Had a better touch screen-more responsive. 5 has LTE, so the data is faster, but feels insignificant in hands, delicate, flimsy.

4S Built better and touch screen is more responsive? Have you even tried a 5? Build quality is perfect with my 5 and the touch screen is just as responsive as the 4S.

Touch response should even be better on the 5 given that they built in the touch sensors right into the glass screen essentially.

I am just saying my touch sensors have been perfect, i have never had a problem with them.

I was wondering where he got his information from that the 4s was more responsive to touch which is completely inaccurate.

apparently, that caused some issues.

Yea that article is not true, i have tried it with both fruit ninja and infinity blade and it is impossible to replicate.

I have noticed a lot of times if one person has an issue with their own device they write an article as if its that way with all of the devices.

Aside from the fact that this didn't seem to be the case for everyone, most of those who even saw this issue have been saying that it's basically no longer there in the latest iOS updates (post-6.1 essentially). So, doesn't really seem that that actually caused any issues after all.

I have been using my iphone 5 for some months and when I use for only seconds the iphone 4S of a friend I always think how amazing is the new iphone 5, the screen display is a lot way better, the screen size is huge, I feel the iphone 4S screen too small and the colors look like and old tv.

If you still think that it is a bad idea to upgrade to the iphone 5 you are missing the best iphone ever.

About scratches or bend issues I can say that my iphone 5 after months look exactly like the first day, I never use rings or coins inside my pockets. It is a black one.

Imagine me that I went from a Nexus 4 to an iPhone 5... I felt the screen very small...

I just returned my iPhone 5

My wife had her iPhone 5 for a few months before I could upgrade and I could hardly wait to get mine. I liked the aluminum rebuild with the lighter weight (the 14 ounce difference however is not enough to make the 4s a brick in comparison). Internet pages loaded a split second faster and apps like the camera opened a split second faster as well. Sooo....I got the 5 and after a week I am sick of the feel of the dang thing in my hand. I can't stand the fact that to use the phone one handed and have my thumb be able to reach everything on the screen I have to place and hold up the phone withy my pinky on the bottom(see picture). Because of this awkward position of pushing the phone up so high the phone feels unbalanced like it's about to teeter toter out of my hand! I've since returned the 5 and it feels so good to have the 4s back comfortably in my hand. Of course this is all a matter of opinion and my preference would be different than Shaq's where a coke can looks like a salt shaker in his hand. Plus I've noticed that a lot of woman including my wife hold their phone with one hand and use the touch screen with the other; for those individuals the increased size of the 5 would be a non factor. Another point for going back to the 4s was the battery. I'm surprised other people don't talk about it more (maybe I got a bad phone) but the battery lasts noticeably shorter. With my 4s I charge at night and I don't have to give charging a second thought the entire day. Sometimes I'll skip a charge at night and it will still last through most of the next day. With the 5 I was charging it at night and it would be in the red by the time I got home from work around 5 and would have to charge before the day was over. Having a bigger screen to me is a bit gimmicky and something I'm scared apple did in response to the android market where "bigger is better". I really hope Apple comes back to the size of the 4s and give it a thinner rebuild but I doubt they will.

I have to agree. I was a holdout and was content with my 4S. I had gotten my wife the 5 last year for her birthday and the one thing I always noticed was her screen was much better than my 4S color wise and contrast wise. Well I was bumping up against my 32GB limit and also getting tired of the weight of my 4S and mostly the 3G data speeds, so I finally got a 64GB iPhone 5 and WOW! So much better. I'm so happy I finally made the switch. It is noticeably better than the 4S in EVERY way. And the front camera is amazing. Very helpful when doing self portraits with my kids.

Better in what way(s)?

iPhone 3G support dropped 3 years ago, updates made phone slow.
iPhone 3GS still supported to this day, not very slow.
iPhone 4 missing features from iPhone 4S, misses even more features on iOS 6.
iPhone 4S has virtually every feature of the iPhone 5, and is a bit cheaper.

That's what I mean.

i think it's just because the "s" phones were more capable devices; they always had twice the ram and twice the processing power. it shouldn't be surprising that older phones aren't able to do as much as newer phones.

But the iPhone 4S and 5 have a smaller feature gap than 4 and 4S, even though the 5 is a bigger redesign.

iphone 5's design is great. i have 4s. i didnt upgrade to 5. processor speed , weight , LTE , design and the screen seperates 4s to 5. nothing much. my sister upgrade to 4s to 5. and my mom. idont feel like upgrading i play around with their 5's. i can say its a great device but nothing much that seperates it from 4s. my opinion though.

Yeah, everything. But "nothing much".

The way I see it, Apple plans to support 2 years of full featured upgrades for every iphone, more or less in line with a typical 2-year contract from a carrier.

That's why the 4s gets pretty much the same feature set as the iphone5. Most owners of the 4s would still be into 1 year of their 2-year contract anyways, many are not going to recontract into the 5. So Apple loses nothing from giving them the full benefits of IOS6.

Conversely, by that time, people using the iphone4 would be eligible for a recontract, so it made sense (from Apple's POV) to hold back features so as to incentivise them to upgrade.

Likewise, the 4s was released a year after the iphone4. Of course it would be better! :D

All I need to appreciate my iPhone 5 is a few minutes of using my iPhone 3GS or my HTC Touch Pro.

Both the 3GS and the 4 and 4S (and the Touch Pro) are great phones, but my 5 is perfect for me.

On a personal note, while they are great phones, I just never really cared for the design of the 4 and 4S. I actually prefer the design of the 3GS over these.

YES!!!! I love the design of the 3GS. I loved plastic curved back feel in my hand. Best designed phone ever.

I've used the AT&T iPhone 5 a few times, and I've never once seen it connect with LTE. I'm in St. Louis, so I'm guessing the LTE coverage just isn't that great. So, I don't know if I'd get any advantage out of that.

Many of the apps I've ran are pillarboxed on the iPhone 5. While the screen is nicer in some apps (such as Calendar), there may be a lot of negatives with this, as well, especially since my app collection goes back to 2009 (and many haven't received iPhone 5-friendly updates).

I've seen a ton of reports on flaky Power buttons, and I've seen a ton of pictures from people who have bent their iPhone 5. I'm not super worried about those things, but I still think about them, especially since I won't get much out of the 5.

I enjoy my iPhone 4S. Unless there is some reason to not get it (Nexus 5?), I'll be getting an iPhone 5S for my next upgrade. By that time, more apps should be updated for the resolution, maybe LTE coverage will be better in my area, and maybe the build quality will be a bit higher.

Last Christmas I replaced my 3GS with the 5 and immediately noticed a big difference in the feel of the 5. Holding the old 3GS with one hand feels so comfortable in comparison the my 5. My 3GS is in perfect condition and placed side by side the sharpness of the screen obvious. The signal meter is not as strong on the 3GS.

My wife has a Nokia Lumia 620 and after messing around with Windows 8 on it, it's a pleasure to go back to my 5. So glad she did not spend more expense on the Nokia Lumia 820, if the 620 is anything to go by. Lets just say, after all the people who pull iOS apart, take it from me "it just works" in my experience. My 3GS my be slow but given the choice of the Nokia or 3GS, well 3GS wins.
