I swear the KY scan is new. It didn't say that there before. I thought it was going from GA to KY, not the otherway around.. This is good news then. It's on its way to Philly? I hope... Why wouldn't it just ship from KY to Philly directly by air? :(

I am starting to think that our packages went to louisville first, then to GA. This tracking makes no sense :confused:
 
Why 2 days...

I live in Lexington, Ky. I'm 40 some mins away from Louisville, please tell me why I've been sitting in Louisville for 2 days, this is ignorant... As soon as I had my import scan(at 11am), I should have been on a truck to my local hub and had it delivered to me either midday or early morning tomorrow.

--> Sat around doing nothing for 1 whole day(23rd). Then took them another whole day to get the damn thing through customs(24th). what is this ****?

I ordered a black AT&T 32GB on Saturday afternoon. Shockingly the order is still being processed and it has an estimated delivery date of October 24-30. The folks I talked to at Apple on the phone thought it might go out a bit earlier, but probably won't be any updates for a while.

Exactly, and for me that preorder time has to be a more reasonable hour. Midnight Pacific was a hard time to either stay up for, or get up early here in CST. And I ordered "late", at 3:10a Central, so I missed the launch day delivery by 10 minutes or so. If it's ever midnight Eastern, or a morning time, I'll be all over it. Otherwise it's just not worth it for me.
 
Just noticed this in the iPhone FAQ at PackageMapping.com:

Why is my UPS tracking information taking so long to update?
According to the contract we have with UPS, we are limited to how often we can request repeat tracking numbers in a day. This means that the first time you track your package in any given day, the information will be current. After that, you will have to wait a long period of time before the information will be updated again in that same day. The amount of time varies and can be anywhere from 3 to 12 hours depending on a number of factors. Paid subscribers will be given priority over non-paying users. Currently, this only applies to UPS tracking numbers.

All together now: Arrrrggghhh! In any event, FlightAware reports flight #61 is due in Louisville, KY around 12:30a.m. Tuesday. -------- re 7:46a arrival Incheon Korea (apparent motherlode of 64gb black)

P.S. FlightAware has been good about emailing updates in real time, thus far.

However, two quick Qs:

1. Anyone been stuck in ZhengZhou, China 09/23/2012 7:35 P.M. Arrival Scan Just curious.

2. How the heck are people figuring out what flights they are on? I'd be interested to know how just to see how it works.

Yeah, when I checked this morning I thought it went straight from Hong Kong to Hapeville, GA, but when I checked it later Louisville appeared between HK and GA, but it could be because I had not had my morning coffee.
 
I am in NY and mine left Louisville at 3:42 today.

Any idea where it goes next? Hopefully JFK tonight and me tomorrow.

The Kentucky scan is definitely new. I am starting to think that our packages went from HK to Louisville and then to Georgia. That would make sense.. I wonder where our packages are going now....
 
I'll join in on the OCD. I ordered mine on the morning of the 13th, the day after the launch. The date given to me by Apple at that time was Oct 5.

Today I'm at:

I think all planes head to Newark (for New Jersey / Philadelphia deliveries) - Chances are yours in Newark, will go out late tonight for Philly and you should get delivery tomorrow.

Call me a liar LOL - Mine just arrived at Philadelphia from KY - How it made it there only the UPS gods know - as it was supposed to be on a plane heading to Newark with a 5:30pm land time.... Fingers crossed it gets to Coatesville PA tomorrow - I'm about 40 miles from Philadelphia. Then again if it shows up, there goes my work day....

I have the exact time arrival as you and stuck there....it stated. Delivery on the 27th but now it's gone and still stuck in china....who knows.

My mother's 16GB iPhone 5 that I ordered immediately after my 32GB (which is currently in Hapeville, GA) is stuck in ZhengZhou same as yours.

I have been stuck in ZhengZhou since yesterday at 7:35 PM as well. My email from Apple said to expect delivery on September 28 and I suspect that is when it will arrive.

It is apparent that UPS is grossly overloaded by the volume of these shipments and that they are putting pallets of iPhones on anything that moves and sending them on. I track many shipments each month from UPS and I have never seen the tracking system so messed up. I wouldn't trust the tracking page until I see "Out for Delivery" I also am not putting any stock in the delivery commitments associated "Expedited" and "Express" shipments vis a vis two day vs five day transit times. Since most orders seem to get bottlenecked in ZhengZhou for a couple of days and then again at Louisville for a couple of days, I'd venture that is out the window.

It is frustrating, I know, not not see shipments flowing through the UPS system like they normally do. I can always order something and know the next morning when to expect the doorbell.

I am in the same holding pattern. I am trying not to be impatient but I am tired of no movement and the fact that others with later order times and scan times seem to be moving and we are not.

To the person who asked how I got tracking info without an apple email I simply looked up my billing phone # in track by reference. The key for me was to only put in the phone # and not my country or city.
