The iPhone Lottery is a fool's game - and one I've played. Even if you manage to get a pristine phone out of the box, you'll eventually get a ding, scuff, or scratch on it eventually, and at that point, you'll feel even more foolish. Take it from me...![]()
I'm a bit gutted about this whole thing. I've read the posts on this thread back when didn't even have intentions of buying one, and thought it can't be that bad. I've since bought a black one and after one day I have silver showing in two places on the band.
I've read posts saying people are being over the top, but this is just stupid. Apple have messed up and should admit it.
I'm not bothered enough to change the phone because it will happen again and It won't bother me too much anyway. But it's still not what you would expect from Apple. If I don't buy a case now it will look a mess in two months. How can that be right for something worth over 500 quid?
I didn't say anything about it harming their sales. I said they've messed up, meaning in production, which is strange for such a big release.
I've never had an Apple product that shows marks after a day. My post was just basic observations after getting the phone.
How about black version for today production?
i will order today.
thank you.
All are fine. Here only the few unlucky come posting. Millions of people are really happy and fine and don't come here.
Nonsense!
1. My first iphone 5:, received Oct 23 - DUST in camera lens, right out of the box.
2. Went to Apple store to exchange it - Had to wait 45 minutes (even though I had an appointment) while crowds of iSheep were occupying the employees with questions like, "So how do I set up my email?" Employee brings out a white-boxed iphone -- 2 SCRATCHES on aluminum rim, right out of the box. I declined the exchange and left (angry).
3. Iphone #3 received from carrier Oct 31 - the little speaker holes are mis-drilled and SCUFFFED, right out of the box.
The problem has NOT been solved. Those people that are not complaining are either naive or have higher tolerances. I'd estimate more than 70% of all iphone 5's are defective.
Nonsense!

LOL I love made up figures.

Hmmmmmmmmmm what product do America make? Does diabetes count as product?

Welcome, you will have a tough time on these forums with this attitude.
Well, I'm trying to make the point that the problem is rampant. Really -- think about this for a second. I'm just a regular guy who encountered 3 out of 3 messed up phones in a 2-week time span. You know that figure is high up there, likely in the ballpark of >50%. Either this, or I have some reeeeeally bad luck.![]()
