Nice to seeing customers supporting USA companies and I hoping there being 3 times more made in USA companies in 6 months and 3 times more that in other 6 months. Good fortunes to you and your employees and you product becoming number one in USA
This is great seeing how social network do good. Let other peoples knowing how you like their case here and encourage more USA companies who make their IPhone 5 accessories in USA to post here. You can changing the ways people thinking with informationI just ordered a case from Killspencer made in Los Angeles
I don't want to get too far into economics and away from accessories, but I am surprised by the responses here. The OP makes some great points, and still people say "Who cares where it's made." I think too many people don't understand the value of manufacturing in our economy. I work in Detroit making assembly lines for the automotive industry. I can tell you I won't buy products from someone who hasn't bought from my company. Interestingly, we have done a lot of work lately for Toyota, BMW, Honda, etc. But Ford is our bread and butter. I haven't seen any GM work in a long time.
Sadly many of these phone accessories are hard to find many options. I just want a bumper style case. The only US one seems to be Element, but they want $160 and that is just too much. I'm more than happy to go up to $50 or even $75, but $150-160 is just too much. Not saying their product doesn't warrant that cost, but I just wish there were more options. I have the SGP bumper coming today, which is from South Korea. My main thing with accessories is to buy from one of the brands who I know has done the design and engineering behind what they are selling.
Thanks for trying to enlighten people, Paul Chow. Many countries can't exist on tourism and service industries and need manufacturing in order to grow.
What about grove or iskin? I preorder a grove case (talk about a company that puts time and engineering behind their products) and own a iskin Aura.
Now in terms of iskin...I am not entirely sure were they are based out of. Last year, when I had to return a case to be fixed under warranty...it was returned to a place in California. This year when I ordered a case, I think it came from Canada.
I've used iSkin in the past. I don't see a bumper style case on their page. I don't see a bumper from Grove either.
Hi - I'm Jon from Twig Case Co. and we make our laser-engraved handmade cases in Minnesota, in the USA! (since 2011)Our cases are paper and bamboo, and are the only Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) certified Apple accessories out there, as well as the strongest cases made from natural materials on the market. We currently have our iPhone 4 & 4S case for sale at www.twigcase.com, and we will be doing a iPhone 5 case when it's out. (As well as an iPad case!)
I'm happy to answer any questions anyone may have.
I am loving your cases and am very interested in ordering one. If you don't mind, I have a couple of questions though. Is the iPhone 5 case available in vines in bamboo? Also if I place an order now, when might it ship? I know you might not have exact dates, just wondering if you have an estimation. Last, when do you charge? I know in your FAQ section it talks about preordering but not sure if that still applies. Thanks so much for any help you can give me!

Greetings from Stillwater MN! Congrats on a nice looking product. I was trying to find the total thickness of the case. Do you have dimensions somewhere?
I think important to buying cases made in you country. Iphone 5 here this month. I know form me other post Element case made in USA. Do you recommending other Made in USA case?
Made-in-the-USA patriotism from a foreigner from HK in broken English...
I've seen it all, now! lol.
USA is great country and I so sad seeing it have some much trouble and many peoples suffering. I looking at how China so strong over last 10 years and it because they making things. I not so smart but I thinking if USA starting making things again they too will being strong and peoples going back to working. Here in China we protect our family but I thinking we all family, Chinese and Americans are we not? Don't looking at how doing things for less money but thinking if you making in other country how many people lossing job in you country. Just thinking if you continue like this then one day you may growing you food in other country because it costing less. This having to stopy and you one person can starting to make the difference. Then maybe soon you buying designed and made in China and we buying design and made in USA that is real way to trade.
So if you are USA company start having meetings talking about how you too can start making you product in USA and posting you company here so others in USA can supporting you. I really think they will buying you product because they too knowing how important it is to making USA strong again.
Wow what a sad topic, to bad you guys don't think.
And if you have the time, and want to educate yourself read this:
Protectionism is frequently criticized by mainstream economists as harming the people it is meant to help. Most mainstream economists instead support free trade. Economic theory, under the principle of comparative advantage, shows that the gains from free trade outweigh any losses as free trade creates more jobs than it destroys because it allows countries to specialize in the production of goods and services in which they have a comparative advantage. Protectionism results in deadweight loss; this loss to overall welfare gives no-one any benefit, unlike in a free market, where there is no such total loss. According to economist Stephen P. Magee, the benefits of free trade outweigh the losses by as much as 100 to 1.
Most economists, including Nobel prize winners Milton Friedman and Paul Krugman, believe that free trade helps workers in developing countries, even though they are not subject to the stringent health and labour standards of developed countries. This is because "the growth of manufacturing — and of the myriad other jobs that the new export sector creates — has a ripple effect throughout the economy" that creates competition among producers, lifting wages and living conditions. Economists[who?] have suggested that those who support protectionism ostensibly to further the interests of workers in least developed countries are in fact being disingenuous, seeking only to protect jobs in developed countries. Additionally, workers in the least developed countries only accept jobs if they are the best on offer, as all mutually consensual exchanges must be of benefit to both sides, or else they wouldn't be entered into freely. That they accept low-paying jobs from companies in developed countries shows that their other employment prospects are worse. A letter reprinted in the May 2010 edition of Econ Journal Watch identifies a similar sentiment against protectionism from sixteen British economists at the beginning of the 20th century.
Alan Greenspan, former chair of the American Federal Reserve, has criticized protectionist proposals as leading "to an atrophy of our competitive ability. ... If the protectionist route is followed, newer, more efficient industries will have less scope to expand, and overall output and economic welfare will suffer."
Protectionism has also been accused of being one of the major causes of war. Proponents of this theory point to the constant warfare in the 17th and 18th centuries among European countries whose governments were predominantly mercantilist and protectionist, the American Revolution, which came about ostensibly due to British tariffs and taxes, as well as the protective policies preceding both World War I and World War II. According to a slogan of Frédéric Bastiat (1801-1850), "When goods cannot cross borders, armies will."
Free trade promotes equal access to domestic resources (human, natural, capital, etc.) for domestic participants and foreign participants alike. Some thinkers[who?] extend that under free trade, citizens of participating countries deserve equal access to resources and social welfare (labor laws, education, etc.). Visa entrance policies tend to discourage free reallocation between many countries, and encourage it with others. High freedom and mobility has been shown to lead to far greater development than aid programs in many cases, for example eastern European countries in the European Union. In other words visa entrance requirements are a form of local protectionism.
Why are people giving an American grief for wanting to support American companies? The iPhone might be made in China, but that doesn't negate the impact of supporting American companies when you can. Its true that I bought a cheap asian-made case, but that's a hold over until I find a nicer case I like and that case will be made in the US. This is not a moral judgement against people who buy asian-made cases. Everyone is entitled to spend their money as they see fit. I just choose to support American companies when I can.
Paul Chow, I like your perspective on the matter.
if you continuing going this way one day no one having a job then who buying your design in usa made in china products?![]()
This I finding very interesting. So few companies making they products in USA. Most making for lowest cost because it good for their pocket even if many companies having machines to making in USA and needing their orders. I hope people can seeing beyond if it don't hurting me or my family then why should I caring. So glad to seeing some companies want to making in USA and I wish them very good business and more American buyers supporting them and letting people knowing about these companies so they become bigger and bigger and supporting more and Americans working. When you having a chance looking all the accessories you bought and see where it made and see how much you money going to support you country.bingo!!!
