I ended up buying a wooden dock on eBay for $65 - $20 in eBay bucks I had. Figure $40 (since it comes with a lightning cable) for a wooden, crafted dock, might as well. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dock-For-Ap...525921?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item19d5e1c6e1

I'll let everyone know how I like it once I receive by this weekend.

That looks awful! Really awful! Not worth $1 for the dock itself. You've just paid too much for the cable. It's just a length of timber they've cut off and drilled a hole through. And it's obviously been cut and drilled badly as the timber is clearly damaged on the side and at the hole.

Here's some info about the Flash Lighting Dock and their use of genuine and aftermarket chips.

Completely beyond me, no official Apple iP5 dock.:eek:

I'd say its because they *don'*t sell many. A good proportion of iPhone users have a case on their phone and couldn't use Apple's dock. Phil Schiller's comments about not doing a dock would back that up.

i can't see price because its currently unavailable but the same one for 2 phones is 80$ so this gotta be cheaper i presume.

Think I am actually going to go with the Braeburn Acoustics like others here. It uses your existing lightning dock so its not going to kill my phone. On the positive side if I want to blast some tunes it will amplify my existing speakers,

Got my Braeburn Acoustics dock today! I haven't went home yet to try it out, but my wife says it's NICE and seems sturdy and holds the phone straight up and doesn't appear fragile. I am sure if you took a swing at it, you can break it. I will report back further findings later, but it passed the wife test LOL

Wow, honestly?? Cool if it was a DIY, but thats alot of cash for a piece of driftwood.Note to self: walk across the street with a wheel barrow and start scavenging ;)
Got my Braeburn docks on tuesday. These things are sleek! This thread needs more photos: lets see some pics.

Awesome, please post some pics and what you think of it when you get a chance! Ordered mine yesterday.

Sorry, didn't get a chance to take pics, but overall the dock does a good job. They provide you with a hole you can snake the lightning cable through and then a screw you then tighten it with. They also put Scotch double sided tape on the bottom if you want to basically secure the dock on a desk. This prevents the dock from moving around and also allows you to pull the iPhone 5 with one hand out of the dock. If you decide not to tape the dock to the desk, you will need two hands to remove the phone from the dock.

The amplified sound is a nice feature, especially when you are in charging your phone and in another room.

My only real complaint about the dock is, the phone tends to lean a slight bit forward. This makes typing on it while it's docked a little akward, but doable. I know my iPhone 4 dock which was made by Azmer allowed the phone to slant upwards which I really liked.

For the price, I recommend this dock. I am sure once more docks came out later, there might be better options. I would not be concerned with the lack of back support, I pushed pretty hard and the phone doesn't snap off. You would have to really take a swipe at it to break the connection.

Thanks for the quick review. I agree, while I havent gotten mine yet, this dock seems to be the best out there for now, for the money.

That is dreadful, did you really pay that???

No kidding. All you need is a block of wood, a router, a drill, and you're done in 2 minutes flat. Honestly, $5 for the wood stand would have been a fair price. I can see that thing tipping a lot too due to the low weight.

Anyone seen any info on any iP5 iHome or similar type docks becoming available soon, please?

I also agree with the former comments about the one IPhone strength being accessory availabilty. I couldn't go anywhere without seeing iPhone accessories for almost anything you could fathom.

I paid $40 (eBay bucks were free, in essence). I put it at $20 for the "dock" or block of wood, whatever. It's $20 lol I didn't see anything better out and people put time to make it. If I don't like it, I always have CC protection.

I had just ordered mine on Amazon. I ordered the white version and there's a black version as well. Unlike the the older version for iPhone 4 it seems that there is no audio output available on this one. The seller told me that it is due to the limitation of the the lightning connector which does not support analog signal.

Here'e the link for both colors:

The white one looks the same as the one I ordered the other day, it has the option of buying a cable or using the existing cable. :

I obviously cannot speak to the iPhone 5 dock which hasn't been released yet, however; I have three of their docks for my IP4/4S and they are perfect. Easy to dock/undock, nice finish, and great customer support. One stopped working for some reason and they sent me another for free. (And no, I don't work for them or anything, just enjoy their stuff).

I have three of their dock for the iphone 4's and two that I gave as gifts.
Everybody loves them.
Very well made and I like that they have sound holes but the ones that will be coming out for the iPhone 5 are very pricey, so I dunno.

is this really IN STOCK and ready to ship? is it more like the Apple universal Dock or smaller one like the iPhone 4 dock?
