Yes it did but there was an outer sleeve with an insurance company logo on it, I can only assume the added it for branding

Use the website above or search for iPhone warranty check. As soon as you activated it the warranty will begin.

Ok says it's not activated. I take it when it says contact your wireless carrier it means my network provider.

Refurbished phones warranty doesn't gain again 1 year. Warranty continues from when you have activated your first phone. When I got the fifth refurbished iPhone, there was left only 2 months of warranty. However, they give 3 months warranty for exhanged phone.

You are talking about Apple warranty replacements, which can sometimes be refurbished units.

I'm talking about BUYING a refurbished iPhone, which gives you a 1 year warranty, if bought from an Apple-approved reseller. I've recently bought a refurbished iPhone 5, which has a 1 year warranty. I'm presuming the OP did the same.

I would presume. Did you connect it to iTunes?

Yes already connected it and synced etc. I think I should connect it again and try see if I can activate it through iTunes, I remember a screen asking if I wanted to register it but chose not to at the time.

I thought the OP received the refurbished as a replacement from his insurance company (after having dropped his original phone and cracked the screen).

Correct.

Can anyone read my post and answer me if I can take it Apple and tell them to shove it

No matter where you got an Apple product from (or its warranty status), you can take it to an Apple Store and get a free diagnosis at the Genius Bar.

If you want Apple to fix it, it needs to be covered under Apple's warranty. If you're unclear as to if it is or isn't, call AppleCare and ask. The phone came from your insurance provider. I don't think anyone here knows the Apple warranty status of devices sent out as replacements by your insurance company, or if your insurance company has their own warranty for those devices.

Oh. Well that's different then. I was getting confused.

edit: getting confused.

Since it is the EU you probably have to go through your insurance company, based on what I've read here previously. Of course you are the ultimate expert and can actually go to the apple store and find out or maybe call them.
