I have had every iteration of the iPhone. This is the one. Should have just called it iPhone. My GS3 will be very lonely for a while.

How'd did you word it so that they understood what you were talking about? I have to do this tonight.

I basically following AT&T instructions they have online, entered the phone number I got the upgrade on, then told them that I got the new iPhone 5 and wanted to do an upgrade swap to activate it on a different line. That's it really. Only the last guy I got had a clue.

I am sure it's been said many times, but LTE just screams, it's crazy how much faster it is than 3G.

Yeah, I have 25 megabit service at home, and my iPhone 5 checked in around 30 megabits on LTE. I'm impressed.

My one day usage impressions:

1. You notice the lightness yet how solid (even more so than the 4/4S) once you pick it up!

2. The Lightning connector is great that you can plug it in either way.

3. The screen quality is a lot better. Everything is so darn fine and the colors pop more to me.

4. Responsiveness of the touch screen has improved too. The one handed usage has not been lost either.

5. Everything is just snappier. I rarely find myself one or two steps ahead of the phone.

I'll post more as I find more...

I just can't get over how great my new black iPhone 5 is. I've had all the previous iPhones except for the 4S and this one is by far the best model produced. It just really looks great. I really don't understand the people who say that it isn't much different from the 4 series. It is a huge change IMO. I just love how thin and light it is plus the larger screen to me makes a huge difference. Plus it is incredibly fast. I really can't think of anything that Apple could do to make it any better. As far as IOS 6 goes, I really don't know of anything else I'd want it to do either. It meets all my needs fine.

phone is fantastic, earpods are not

I just want to know what over-sized ear holes Apple uses for designing the pieces of crap they call earpods. The design change makes more sense, but they constantly fall out of my ears, more so than the round ones. Why not go with interchangeable flexible buds that have a similar shape?

The phone however, is really really nice.

First impression is how thin the phone looks and how light it feels with an incredible speed increase of LTE.

Compared to prior phones I've had, this one is far and away not only the most responsive, but offers the best browsing experience. The download/upload speeds are outrageously fast where LTE has been implemented.

These are just my impressions.

I handled my friend's iPhone 5 today. Not very impressed. The lightweight-ness did throw me off, and the device does feel a little cheapened, but I oddly can't put my finger on exactly why. It feels as if it's been hollowed out; almost as if I pressed it, it would give in and be crushed, or at least flex. It's also lost some of its former grace, especially with the back. The back looks more utilitarian and rugged, which can be a good thing actually. It's just a stark contrast from the 4S' full glass black. I was never a big fan of it, but there was no denying the glass made the device seem more graceful and elegant.

To me, the iPh5 is just awkward as heck. It really feels significantly taller, even though I know it's not. The lack of expansion width wise feels bizarre, like it's more a chocolate bar than a smartphone. I'm sure if I ever owned it and spent days with it, I'd adjust, no doubt. I do love how thin the device has become.

I also disliked that the power/sleep button is now even further away to reach at the top. I loathe the power/sleep button on the HTC One X. It made it horribly clunky to put to sleep (and wake in the HTC's case). It's a very close clunkiness with the 5. You had to adjust your hand so that your index finger could reach it. For those who argue the importance of the ease of use with one hand, that power button sure complicates things.

There's no describing how comfortable and perfect the location of the power/sleep button is on the GN. If 'm holding it with my right hand, my thumb is always nearby. If left hand, my index is always wrapped nearby. The power button on top needs to go the way of the dinosaurs. It's making less and less sense. The front home button definitely felt helluvalot more sturdy and durable though. And the screen is pretty vibrant and gorgeous to look at. No arguing that. In my opinion though, it's still not big enough. Reading texts and websites were really no different than the 4S. Certainly better, but not enough.

And iOS is simply what it is. iOS.

Just my impressions.
