If your still in our 30 days.. You can call Apple to buy AppleCare + on it.. Then once that's bought go to Apple store and pay the 50 bucks to get it replaced..

Because committing fraud is an easy and acceptable resolution to this or any problem!

Don't worry - he doesn't know Apple+ needs to be purchased with the phone at the same time and cannot be purchased once you had your phone for a while

Well unfortunately, here in the UK applecare + doesn't exist. We only have applecare and therefore apple won’t do the accidental side of things.

I do have a shuffle but like to use my iPhone to record what weights I've used etc. This time I just got a imprint of the dumbbell instead.

FYI : It's just gone day 41 of having the iPhone 5!

I was going to suggest you just use an ipod shuffle but I see you said above you have one. They are cheap (cheaper than some arm bands), hold plenty of music for a workout (or 10), they are a lot more durable as they can be dropped, banged, etc (less maybe dropping a dumbbell on it) and be fine, plus they are small and clip to your waist where they will not get in the way or fall off in the first place. If for nothing else, I hope the shuffle stays around forever as it is a great workout ipod. No way I am sweating all over and running/lifting with a $750 phone on my arm/in my pocket.

Check you haven't got any hidden insurance i.e. with your bank account for example. Lot of banks are providing such services as a sweetener for customers!

For everyone that workout with there iPhones. You guys need to look into belt holster like seidio. I've been using it for my iP4 and already have one for the iP5 that I don't even have yet.

How people take their phone's with them into the gym is still beyond me, the last thing I want when training is a distraction like that.

You want music, get an iPad nano or shuffle.

Using iFitness you can log the reps, sets and weight for each exercise. Then export to excel and analyse your workout ensuring that you at least meet the weight you achieved last time. It’s no distraction. If anything it motivates me further knowing I achieved that particular weight, rep and set last time.

Yup. I'm the same way. I'm using iFitness Pro app (an upgrade to the original iFitness app) also BarbellCalc. I usually put my phone on airplane mode.

You need to check out Fitocracy. I used iFitness before but this one has a social aspect for motivation, a great catalog of exercises, achievements, quests, and a near instantaneous history of each exercise you've performed. I've been so much better about going solely because of my drive to "level up".

That aside, even before I was logging my workouts I would take my phone into the gym with me. I've never seen anything like this. Good luck on Sunday!

Maybe you can sell it to Gizmodo and says it's a prototype of a curved glass iPhone?

So you have no short term memory? I tried all that then realised I remembered it all an hour later when putting the into into my spreadsheet.
I'm just very cautious when it comes to activities and my phone.

unfortunately not so great!

Well we all know now what happens if you do take it in with you!

Managed to get an appointment tomorrow night.... I'll need the luck with me

This is definitive proof that iPhone 5 + Gym = DENT!

Yesterday I went to the gym to pick up my friend, had my iPhone 5 in my pocket, next thing you know DENT!

DENTGATE 2012!!!!

Well at least the glass didnt break!

That's crazy though, iPhone 5 owners need to watch the stress they put on the chassis of this phone!

That's the reason I never take my iphone to the gym.
And also that I dont like distractions.
This is what I use below. Small, light, clips anywhere and I dont care if it breaks since its cheap.

Same here! I keep my iphone in my locker and boom to music with my 3rd Gen Nano. The Nano is beat to hell, but it still works. As long as it keeps playing music I will continue to use it.

You know, I must applaud you OP for not losing your S*** over this, because if this were me, and I had no Accidental Home Insurance, I would be really pissed, & Being female that's probably 10+ times more than the average male. So around 2+ months of extreme moodiness and angst over having to pay out for another one.

The nano just doesn't do it for me either. During my workouts I have IFITNESS with my workout for the day preloaded and notes on rest and drop-sets, rest-pause, super-sets etc. It has a timer so I can time my rest and it has my history (Which I wont remember like one person suggested) so I can look back to the last time I did that exercise and not waste a set doing too light of weight.

Also streaming Songza - Workout Mix - Rock gets me pumped for my workout. If I forget my iphone belt case I do leave it in the car now and skip trying to keep it in my pocket because of my many close calls!

Not true at all. That was changed with the iPhone 5. I know because I called in 20 days after I bought it and ordered it. ;)
