Yes exactly, let's not feed the fanboy trolls

Meanwhile, I have setup an email alias and have setup the iPhone to use it as the primary account for inbound and outbound email servers
If I was trying to preserve the malware I should not have changed accounts as the iPhone deleted all content when changing aliases

Will see

Yes I still have copies of the offending outgoing email saved in my sent box. But that doesn't prove anything

It proves that your email account was hacked, not spoofed. If it had been spoofed, there would be no such emails in your sent box. Your apparent reluctance to answer some of the specific questions that have been asked leads to the belief that you are more interested in perpetuating the myth that you have malware, rather than trying to find a resolution to your issue.

...
Three methods I've used so far to combat the spread or effects of this virus/malware are
first changing email account passwords
next removing outgoing server information from the email account
lastly place the iPhone in Airplane mode
...

Please...there is one last step you must do to prevent the spread of the virus to all of our phones. Smash the phone repeatedly with a hammer and submerge in water. It's the only way this out of control virus can be contained...

Yes OP you have a major virus issue, just burn your phone so the infection doesn't spread on your clothes and infect you and others :D

I think some acid may be in order….. hydrochloric, perhaps?!? …but the phone must be completely immersed!

Better add some hydrofluoric acid in there in case the virus is in the Gorilla Glass. You know Corning is owned by Dow, an evil mega-corporation, right?

OP: I ask you again: have you examined the headers of the emails your friends are receiving to see what IP address the email were sent from? Since this would be a very simple way for you to prove that the emails came from your phone, I would think you'd be eager to do so.

Oh indeed! That is true, how remiss of me! Yes, I agree, hydrofluoric….

Run it over with a Mac truck first, that should also help! :D
