iPhone 5 - June/July or October?

This question gets asked so many times, it could have its own section.

A very valid question of course, but why does someone come along every 8 hours and ask it again? Especially since nobody here really can answer it anyways.

I predict it will be announced in September but we won't see it until very late 2011 or early 2012. Most likely early 2012.

I'm really hoping for a summer release, because I'll finally be eligible for an upgrade through Rogers in late May. I was hoping to sell my iPhone 4 in early May and survive on a dumphone for a few months until iPhone 5 is launched in Canada, but if that's not until September/October I don't think I can make it that long.

Of course, I'm well aware that Apple's plans do not revolve around my hopes and dreams

Apple has never blatantly said on it's invites "come see the new iPhone!" has it? Exactly, and so we still have hope.

i'm still betting on a june/july release this year. I'm not buying any more rumors about apple stuff getting pushed back. People said the ipad 2 would get pushed back until june, and it was released almost a month ago now. The rumors get too ridiculous and i for one hope i don't follow the iphone 5 as much as i did ipad 2.

They've consistently released an iphone almost every summer now, so why should this be any different? Apple is all about consistency and annual releases. Aren't people just going to keep saying this each summer saying, it's different this year? I'm not buyin that hoopla.

Any 'report' that comes out in the news is just gonna be the new thing to say each day. I just read a couple through google news that said june 26 is the release day for iphone 5. Really, who knows. We'll find out something more on june 6.

Like my father was saying, it will release in summer or fall. No way will it be released in 2012. Apples competitors are gaining up.

The iPhone is now a $20B+ business for Apple - in fact the biggest contributor to the bottom line. They have set a cadence of 1 phone per year and I think they will stick to it. It will come out in June even if they have to drop some features like 8 mega pixel camera. Here is what I predict it will have -

- Same form factor as iPhone 4
- Slightly larger display with same 960x640 resolution
- A5 dual core processor
- Upgrade to 802.11n (5Ghz) like on the iPad 2
- HSPA+ in the GSM version

- NO 4G the networks are not really ready for it yet!

- NFC
- 64GB version
