i made the switch from AT&T to Verizon in Arlington, VA and this is what I get to deal with on supposed "4G LTE" (constantly 3-5 bars)... is there anything i can do? i know there are a lot of us yuppies around here with our smartphones but come on, this is absurd!

i wrote Verizon an email wondering what the hell is going on - these are worse than 3G speeds but the iphone 5 always shows LTE.

What happens when you disable LTE?

Sprint LTE in downtown Houston

This is from a window from a skyscaper on the 65th floor in downtown Houston. As a comparison, my Verizon Ipad 3 LTE was around 2-3 MB down and 4 mb up from the same office earlier this week.

Also, a little bit more on speedtests in general, I switched from ATT due to throttling (I use Netflix and Slingbox quite a bit due to no wifi at work due to security issues). Happy with the Sprint speeds so far in terms of actual usage of the phone...All videos stream in high quality, zero lag when viewing websites. I think that's more important gauge of the overall experience...Is there a huge difference loading CNN, ESPN, or watching a Netflix movie with 4-20 MB (Sprint) vs 10-50 MB on ATT? Considering I've already used 6 gb since Monday, ATT isn't a viable option for me anymore. Also, cost was no issue here, it was only a $3 savings for me to switch to Sprint.

weird. i haven't had any speed issues in NYC.
and I still get on average 20+ Mbps down 15+ Mbps up at home (Northern NJ).

I was getting 25mb to 40mb on Att in same locations with my other lte phone, i decided to switch to verizon cause it had better voice reception where I work but beginning to regret it. I going to visit other areas today to test the phone out just to see if i might have to get it looked at.

There are much more people on verizons LTE network. More users= less bandwidth.

Also, try another server. Specifically try the Chicago Comcast server. Servers sometimes will make a drastic difference.

The verizon speeds that people are posting are odd. I know people using androids on verizon and they get amazing speeds. Then somebody right next to them runs speedtest on their iPhone 5 and gets 3G speeds, but their icon says LTE.

Post your iPhone 5 speed tests results

I'm impressed with my iPhone 4 I didn't even get half of this lol, btw I'm on NET10 which is under AT&T I know it can be better , but for what I'm paying a month I'm thankful :D
