I think that is the look they were going for. I wonder if that aluminum back is that liquid metal stuff they bought out last summer.
These mockups never seem to come close to what the actual iPhone looks like.

Maybe the casing will be Zirconia. Apple applied for a patent to use it for mobile devices in 2006 as it is radio transparent. It could produce some interesting effects.
Apple like to make the devices as clean as possible. Have you seen those devices that turn a window into a speaker? Maybe that technology could be used to turn the screen into a speaker, doing away with the old speaker outlets.

I'm still (quite happily) using my iPhone 2G, and I still maintain it has the best build quality.Reminds me ALOT of the iPhone 2G
I can deal with aluminum back, but i do NOT want an old iPhone style curved back. Love the flat iPhone 4 design.
Original iPhone was flat on the back, as well. iPhone 4 was a much welcome return to that.
Haha... looks like they just shrunk the iPad 2 down.. look at the ringer/mute switch..
I would love that tbh. I think I like this design tbh. I do like the flat back of the current design however. I dont want the glass back on the next one.
