The iPhone 5 needs to have 3D. The androids have 3D camera technology which is really cool. I believe if the next iPhone doesn't have 3D, it won't succeed. Does anyone not agree?

It's not going to have 3D technology and yes, it will still succeed.

There is still limited usefulness for 3D tech and it's a major battery drain. Apple is not going to incorporate something that does that and has little practical use.

Apple never uses cutting edge, unproven technology in their products. They won't put a 3D camera in the iPhone until it becomes the industry standard.

Hmm... never considered that it's a battery drain.
But in addition to that, I really don't want to look at a 3D screen all day. Would most likely wind up giving me a headache. The only things I'd really want 3D for would be movies and games. But UI... absolutely not.

3d hype has died down now, it hurts peoples eyes, its not signficant enough and was done in the 70's or whenever, what will be great is when they produce holographic phones, also what is taking off right now is NFC (near field communication) soon everything will be fingerprint and go, i wouldnt mind some glove control technology like they did with playstation

3D is still a gimmick a this point. Pretty much everything 3D out there still sucks.

There is a lot of work to be done before myself and many others will go 3D.

I am currently buying a 3D 60 inch LED TV (nice night at the casino), and I will never ever use the 3D, it is a gimmick.

I am buying it because the 3D TV offers 20 mill contrast ratio vs reg LED at 7 million, and 240 refresh rate vs 120, both in regular 2D LED viewing.

Since I am playing with the house's money, I am going all out on cyber monday....

3D is a dumb phone and TV technology, only certain movies should use it, and its just wasted...if this TV marketed itself as better technology and better specs instead of 3D, id bet itd sell better as well...but the sales dude kept throwing out its 3D...who cares, I don't feel like migraines today.

3D? Really?
You’re not that smart huh? Why would they ever, EVER use something gimmicky like 3d? When was the last successful 3d movie? Avatar? How long ago was that? 3D won't make it, it's just a matter of time before it's gone as fast as it came upon us.

Final Destination 5 was a movie that was good in 3D.

Also, you can make 3D photos and 3D videos using a 3D camera from a phone.

considering i literally just finished the Jobs bio book a few minutes ago, jumping on the 3d bandwagon goes against everything Apple stands for

3D on a phone is stupid and useless.

A gimmick at best on a TV...unless you are 6 years old.

I love how people always start saying the next iPhone 'needs' x feature or it'll fail, yet every year the iPhone does better than the last.

The iPhone does well for several reasons, things like consistency for a start... Android can make the best, flashiest phone ever and I'd not touch it just because next week there will be new model and I'll never see another update for it.

Same goes for apps, I've seen plenty of people buy apps only to find they won't run on x phone.

I won't pay extra to see a movie in 3D, and I won't buy an iPhone if it has 3D. I'm sure I'm not the only one. 3D gives me an awful headache...I definitely don't want to be staring at a 3D screen on my phone all day.

Theve been trying to make 3D fly my entire life. It hasent so far, it won't in the future. Its just not that cool. Its not a significant enough jump for people to bother with it.

No it doesn't. 3D technology is not required to make the phone useful. It's just a cool feature that most people don't care about.

Just look at the Nintendo 3DS. It's failing because people want games, not gimicks.
