That is the norm for apple to charge once the phone has been shipped, but as long as the cc provider does see that as unusual activity you should be fine.

My order for a 16GB Black was final on October 3 through ATT. They said the ship date would be October 23 then they said the ship date is between October 23 and November 2.

mine shipped early as well! got the charge and the email/text early this morning! 16g white from apple.com ordered Oct 6th! ETA Oct 31st-Nov 1st. VERY excited.

Any Verizon people out there? I'm going to be ordering a 64GB white in the next day or two and the ship by date on their web site is Nov. 16. 😱 I was hoping maybe they were shipping faster than that. I have been trying to do an order to pick up one the next day at an Apple Store but there haven't been any available at any Apple Store within 4 hours of me! I'm over an hour to the closest store and would drive a little further than that to get one even but there seem to be none available anywhere - not Verizon, not Radio Shack, and not Best Buy. Very frustrated with trying to get this phone!

You got one after trying for 3 nights? I've been trying for 2 weeks and nothing! I'm thinking of just ordering through Verizon and calling it a day, was hoping to get it through Best Buy because of Reward Zone points but they can't even order one any more. It just seems crazy to me that Apple is releasing a new device, the iPad Mini, when they can't even fulfill the demand for the iPhone 5 over a month after its release!

Ordered my White iPhone 5 64GB on AT&T through the apple store on Oct 6. It said "Processing Items" ships 3 - 4 weeks, delivers: Nov 7 - Nov 14 via standard shipping until Oct 23 when it changed to "Preparing or Shipment" then "Shipped" later that day! My delivery date is Oct 30th through UPS. 😎

mine still says processing ! 🙁. ordered on the 4th and it is expected to be delivered on the 30th-nov 5th. 🙁. ordered at singapore online store. now im getting worried !

I ordered a 32gb for verizon on the 8th of Oct and it said preparing for shipment on yesterday the 25th. I just checked again and it still says that. How long did anyone elses stay on preparing for shipment befor you recieved the shipping conformation ?
Seem like a couple of days for some, others within one day.
Overall it never seems to take that long.

Ordered mine on Apple Online Store on Oct 2. I checked status on October 17, and it said my order was cancelled. Called back and the representantive said that they didn't know why. Two weeks of ordering wasted. Reordered on AT&T site a week ago and still waiting...
