My order for a 16GB Black was final on October 3 through ATT. They said the ship date would be October 23 then they said the ship date is between October 23 and November 2.

My iPhone 5 was delivered this morning! Woo Hoo!

I ordered from a Verizon retail store on 8 October and on 29 October, my credit card was hit for the charge.

Is it correct to assume that Verizon doesn't charge your card until the phone is ready to ship, or am I just imagining that? There's no shipping info yet on the Verizon pre-order site. All it says is this:

"We received your order and it is in process. Payment not taken yet." But payment has been taken.
