Looks like specific models are being distributed by region, no store within approx. 500 miles had a black AT&T 64GB. Surely it will alternate, meaning we should have luck tomorrow night!

I'm looking for Verizon 32Gb White. I'll be back an check tomorrow also.

Thanks all.. Finally waiting that long got us something.. Best of luck to people who couldn't get phones due to availability!

managed to snag a 32 att in pasadena full price. it does make you enter in your att info so that it can tell you that you can't upgrade. i hope it sells unlocked. but i always think i want unlocked because I travel and then I never travel.

Just reserved a 32gb At&t from the apple store in Staten Island mall. Theres no 16gb in stock. Sooo excited!! Good luck everyone!

Was able to get one, east coast here, around 3am. (Woke to go to the bathroom, LOL). While up, I checked the site and reserve at my local store, Lehigh Valley PA, was available. Oped for a white 32GB ATT. I was on the fence over black and white, but I want the white and gunmetal gray Otterbox and frankly, I like the stormtrooper look so I opted for the white phone.

Can't wait to pick it up!

Good luck to all those still waiting and trying. :)

Lehigh Valley was the only place available for me too. haha, maybe I'll see you there. Will probably try to get there when they open so I don't lose my whole day.

I read in one of the earlier posts of a guy getting his phone (either 16GB or 32GB ATT) at King of Prussia.

Hehe, cool. I just got my e-mail saying it is ready for pick up, although I didn't think the store opened this early. At work anyway and will have to swing by at lunch time.

Everything from Cleveland to Kentucky was sold out of both the white and the black Verizon iPhone 5

:(

I have been trying to reserve one in-store each morning but to no avail.
If I try to order one online, it states 3-4 weeks delivery.
I really hate the launch of these things!
Why do I have to do a reserve every morning? Do they get deliveries every day?

I fell asleep and woke up at 2:00am like my body was telling me "WAKE UP!" I reserved an iPhone 5 in West Hartford, CT and it's ready for pick up. Going after work. I think I lucked out.

Haha similar story here. Was checking from 10-11 pm EST to no avail. Girlfriends snoring woke me around 2:30 AM. Checked then only phone available within 200 miles was a 32GB black 5 at a store about 45 mins away so reserved it. Picking it up this evening :)

Guys.. juz so ya'll know, I was able to cancel my preorder with AT&T. That was after I placed an order for pick up. So ppl that are wondering, juz call AT&T if you order still says "processing" and they'll cancel it right away.
At first the lady was like "it's already shipped, we can't cancel"... I told her my order still says processing... lol...
Good luck to everyone... and btw Apple Store in Georgetown, DC still has some left

It looks like this reservation system does not allow for exchanges and Apple store won't sell without reservation.

How would we go about getting our phone exchanged?

reserved a black att 32gb for a friend last night at 1:15AM EST at the NYC Upper West Side store. I just got confirmation from him that he was able to go in and pick up his phone without making a line

None in stock in Indy last night (at least none for AT&T). I'll keep checking. Driving up to Lake Erie/Ohio this weekend so we'll have a chance to hit several stores along the way if one pops up available. Chicago had some last night, as did Cincinnati, but driving 2-3 hours for a phone really isn't on my to-do list.

If I reserve a contract phone, is it okay if that phone is tied to my current contract or does it have to be sold with a new contract?

Are apple stores still selling iPhone 5's to walk in customers or are they holding their whole stock for reserved in-store pickups? Anyone know?

We were told last night at the store that they were holding all for the reservation system.

When you purchase the phone online (which you have to do before scheduling pickup) you have the option to set up a new account, add a line to your existing account, or replace a phone on your existing account. Buying a subsidized phone is going to start a new timer on a 2 year contract for whatever line you put it on.

No one has figured out a way to reserve an off-contract, full price phone if you are already out of contract. They'll make you sign a new one online.

--I thought about just extending my contract and buying the phone for $199 and then canceling it when I got into the store and trying to pay $649. But I'm not sure that that would fly, but it would be harder to deny me to my face after I come in, excited, and in the rain, to my iPhone and then make them take that phone away from my hands. In the end it's just a phone and I'm not going to go any more nuts about it.
