IMPORTANT!

LTE signal bars are for DATA only.

You could have full bars and not be able to make any phone calls because for that you need 3G and you can't see 3G and 4G at the same time on any phone. Which is interesting!

Just to point what I saw on one of the reviews. Not overly important, but....

Two iphones were layed ontop of each other, and I noticed something, just a little interesting about the 4G signal strength bars. One from Verizon, and the other Sprint....Verizon got 5 bars to Sprints 4. My old Sprint account was canceled because of the strength in my area. ;)

one is a iPhone 5, the other is a 4s.

Personally, I wouldn't read a LOT into these reviews, especially since all of these reviewers are obviously not going to say anything too negative.
The next batch of reviews that come out, especially from people who don't get this pre-release access by Apple, are going to be more truthful/accurate - especially about the phones "cons"

I think the white looks great, especially the back. I like the black contrast though on the front. I'm officially excited now, less than 3 days, I'll have my black one :)

Many of the reviews for 5 said main feature holding them back was the OS6 not being updated enough compared to redesigned phone.

You honestly think the reviews are biased because they had early access?

Hmm...I would think a reviewer would want to retain credibility and not come off as an Apple shill. CNet and Engadget do not come across as pro Apple sites to me. At least most of the poeple who post there are as anti-Apple as you can get. Perhaps some of them were expecting to to be underwhelmed but when they got their hands on the phone has a different experience.

Usually when a company wants a product reviewed, it typically provides access to its item to a whole host of reviewers with few limitations (other than proper credentials and all that usual stuff - not just a random Wordpress blog), not just a select few like Apple typically does.

Overall, the iP5 is truly a great phone, and I'm pumped to get mine.

That said, iCloud is the main thing keeping me around on the phone side of things-- just way too good to give up. WP8 looks really cool, but it looks like as long as I'm a Mac user, I'm an iOS user.

I got to be honest with you.. with look of the phone.. reviews from people at the original PR (again didn't see bad review then). This phone for most reviewers will get great marks.. It just will. the negative I see are lightening adaptor, apple Maps, and no NFC which most reviews mention. I don't count the powering mat things because everyone knows it sucks so can't be negative. There wont be some hidden negatives these guys glossed over.

where in what review they show wear on edges of black iphone 5?

In the Pocket Lint review they mention the wear.
http://www.pocket-lint.com/review/5989/apple-iphone-5-phone-review

Specifically they stated:

"Ditching the glass back and reducing the thickness of the glass panel on the front has affected the design of the metal band around the edge of the iPhone. It is now chamfered and while that looks pretty, we've already noticed that on the black model the edge has started to wear, revealing the shiny silver aluminium metal underneath the "slate" coloured coating and, indeed, we've witnessed it on two separate models, ruling out a fluke manufacturing error."

i've been using ios6 on my iphone 4s and i would have to agree. i think this just goes to show how well thought out ios was when it first came out.

I'd say we don't mind as much because we HOPE that they'll use the profits to maintain leadership in the market by bringing us the best products.

If they continue to make the best products, then they SHOULD make more, ya?

I'm not discounting that, what I dont get is when people "root" and "cheer" those companies on, like its a sporting event or something.

i went through all the reviews and think Engadget is the best.

yep...i was actually surprised..they normally are pretty android-biased, but time is an honest reviewer. very in depth as well..

worst in my opinion was pocket lint

..why didnt the verge post anything yet??

someone mentioned earlier that they didn't receive a review unit.

This is what I have noticed about engadget under tim. The staff if very pc/android biased on the podcasts and in their personal rants, but seem to be very level headed in their writing. Tim definately seems to be the most leveled head of them all though.

Android-biased? Are we on the same planet? Historically, Engadget has been Apple-biased, though I think they did an excellent job with the iPhone 5 and it deserves its high praise.

It seems the verge didn't get a review phone which is odd but maybe they upset apple somehow?
