Now that you point it out, there is a slight pink area below the tag "accounts". Could be anything though...screen protector, angle of photograph.

I'll say it's the angle. It's a brand new screen protector that I put on though.

I've had a yellow burn-in spots on my last 3 iPhone's, they replaced my 4, 4S and recently they replaced the iPhone5 screen for the second time after first replacing the whole iPhone. When you where using the iPhone it got hot and that caused the screen to burn-in.

Just go to Apple and let them replace it, or at least the screen. :)

Mine not spots, it's four edges. Did they replace it after warranty expired?

You can't see the issue?

It's not so much that the edges or borders are yellow, it's more that the centre is pink coloured.

Trust me, it's much more pronounced in person.

I have this issue with the pink colored center on my iPhone 5. I've more or less gotten used to it and am just waiting on the next round of phones to arrive this year.

Here in Europe they do as they have to give 2 year warranty by law.

iPhone in eu is more expensive than in us so they give more warranty. I don't think they can change it for free after 2 years warranty. Not sure all iPhones have this problem or just some problem screen.

Just started noticing the greenish yellow border on my iPhone 5 a few weeks ago too. It's clearly visible on light coloured backgrounds...about 5 mm in width.

I'm mainly concerned about the effect it would have on resale value, since I've always depended on selling my current phone when upgrading. I look after my Apple products in order to get good resale prices.

No AppleCare but Apple covers 2 year statutory warranty in Australia now...and so they should for a $1,000 phone that always seems to have something break or go wrong with it just after the first year!

Got my screen replaced. Genius didn't even ask if I had AppleCare (yes it's > 1 year old).

30 minutes later walked out with a new screen. Thank you Apple! Great service. This is why I stay.

I've had this problem three times. On all occasions, Apple acknowledged it was a known fault. Had the phone replaced twice, and on the third occasion, a new display fitted instore, which seems to have resolved the fault.

I saw the same genius twice and he suggested it's a fairly common issue.

I can only see at white background. Did warranty replacement, but found the new screen has a dead pixel. Need to do it again, the quality of new screen is not good for iPhone 5, 5s.

After 6 months, my screen again has white edges. What's the problem on 5's screen?

you could try emailing the ceo.

my 18 month old 5 went yellow in top left corner and contacted the ceo and explained how unhappy i was that an expensive phone failed.

they contacted me and apologised and replaced it foc 6 month out of warranty

Is it natural for the retina screens to go a bit yellow all over after about a year or so? Both my iPhone 5 and my retina IPad mini have shifted their overall white balance toward a warm dingy hue over the past year. I don't mind it, I'm just curious about that. I can really notice how much my displays have changed over time when I compare either of them to a phone or iPad mini in a store.

damn i thought i got one with a great screen... and now after 2 years im getting these borders too... :(

Is it a known defect? My wife's iPhone 5 has it and I think it was not there originally. She probably does not even see it

My iPhone 4 got a yellow 'blotch' towards the upper left of the screen after around 18 months and the exact same thing happened to my iPhone 5 after around 15 months. Granted I use my phones for several hours per day, but I've used laptops for longer and the screens never went faulty on those. I honestly expect the same thing to happen to my 6+, should I keep it that long!

My iPhone 5 has it as well. The borders of the screen are yellow. It's not that big of a deal and is only obnoxious on white backgrounds.

It probably kills the resale value, though. That and the battery is totally shot, can barely get 4 hours out of the thing.

You can clearly see the two yellow blotches towards the upper left of my iPhone 4, but the iPhone 5 blotch is harder to distinguish due to the all around yellow screen...it's in roughly the same area as the lower of the two i4 blotches.
