I just got my new iPhone straight from UPS shop center. opened my box and set the new iPhone on my lap! while I was looking at the headphones the phone slid off my lap an right out my door (I was parked.) hit the cement and I cringed. hoping it was fine after seeing drop tests . turned it over and.... Nooooooooo I feel like crying... shattered

Even then, though, you will have to wait a little while for a replacement I would imagine.

Sorry to hear about that, though. I feel strange with my iPhone 5 not having a case.

Most likely the Apple Store will replace it on the first few days, IF you come clean and not be a demanding idiot.

Same thing happened to a friend with the iPad 2 release. She just admitted the carelessness and they replaced it without any questions. Apple wants good press and happy customers at the launch of a new product.
 
That might be a record! My plans for a slim phone case just changed. I think something more substantial would be good.
 
I'm sorry for the accident. I created a thread about "Who will drop their iPhone 5 the first two weeks of ownership and what will you do to resolve it". It got shot down and the moderators PM'd me and said it was frivolous and deleted it.

I don't mean to use your accident as a means to prove me right. But I'd use your Apple Care, hopefully you purchased one, and get a replacement. It may take a while with demand and all. Good Luck.

That's just wrong. Tell them honestly what happened and you will have a good chance of getting a replacement free of charge. It sucks I know, but I've done it several times and they were kind to do so
 
If you bought AppleCare+, now's the time to use it. If you didn't, take it in and see what it will take to fix it. iFixit said that it is easier to repair the iPhone 5 than the 4 or 4S, so maybe they'll be able to repair it for you. I doubt they were expecting repairs day 1, though, so you may need to wait for parts.
 
I'm not a troll.. I just need people to tell me wverythings gunna be ok.. how do I post a pic?
 
Considering Apple requires a credit card for iPhone purchases, I'd just call them. Most cover ~90 days of accidental damage.
