You broke your phone already?! I wont do any name calling or anything like that, but if you really just broke an expensive, rare device, that is in huge demand on the freaking day of its launch.....in the words of Keashawn Johnson "COMMON MAN!"

Sorry but you MUST be from the "wrong side of the tracks" as it IS fraud.
Umm, I believe that my statement was OBVIOUSLY in jest. Oh right, that emoticon that I used, the very one people seem to think will prevent people like you from believing that what I wrote was serious, suggests I was not serious. Come on buddy, you're smarter than this, right? Wait, maybe not ... I asked if the OP had AC+, which by the way covers accidental damage, you know for times like this! OMGWTFBBQ!!!!

Considering Apple requires a credit card for iPhone purchases, I'd just call them. Most cover ~90 days of accidental damage.

Negative Ghost Rider, I've paid for iPhones using check cards, credit cards and cash.

I'm not a troll.. I just need people to tell me wverythings gunna be ok.. how do I post a pic?

Click on the little paper clip and you can upload one. If you have a photo service on a website, you can click on the little yellow box with the mountains on it.

Great idea. American Express talks this up a lot. I believe Visa Signature cards, and World Master Cards also have this feature.

It's very possible though. I was insanely safe when I took it out the box- put it down when I looked away. If it happened to me- I would not have felt like crying... I would of actually cried.

Thank god some people agree with me.

Fraud is bad, and anybody who even considers it should just leave this forum. It's why cost of devices are high, why insurance is high etc.

Ok, his screen is already broken so let's say he's honest and tells them it was his fault and they replace it (which they probably would), Apple is still eating the cost of the phone regardless or American Express if he used their purchase protection, not sure how that wouldn't affect pricing as well.

Yeah, pretty much every card has it by now. Even my student card which I got having no credit history gives me 90 days. Some of the American Express cards give you a full year.

Mr Johnson, up against the wall, book him for lying about a cracked screen.

That's just silly.

Uh oh the morality police are on patrol! I guess you don't speed either huh?

I speed, because I'm willing to take the risk of a $50 ticket. Committing Fraud, potentially a felony because someone can't handle their damn devices with care is stupid.

Fraud is very bad. Speeding.. is like eating, everyone does it.

Since we're on the subject, does anyone know if there's still a $199 out of warranty replacement option available, or has AppleCare+ pretty much ruined that for us?

The reps in Apple store when trying to sell apple care mentioned the standard $199 replacement without Applecare+

Good to know. I'd rather pay $199 in the case of a catastrophic accident (which I have yet to have with any of my iPhones in 4 years of ownership) than to pay $100 extra now and a $50 deductible later. Possibly paying an extra $50 later sounds like a better deal to me than definitely shelling out $100 that may do me no good whatsoever.

iphone 5 users have like 30 days to purchase applecare and applecare +...purchase applecare + and go in

Yeah i didn't get it on any of my iphones. It really only saves if you destroy it a second time. Even then I can most likely repair it myself cheaper if it's a shattered screen.

hope this works...
