sorry I was on my cracked screen it was hard to post stuff, but now that Im home from the apple store I am one Happy customer! I hugged the guy that replaced my phone for free...

the apple workers all gathered around and were like.. woah the first broken iphone 5.. they felt bad for me and said get this guy a new phone!
nice.

Holy CRAP the glass is fragile...

Had my iPhone for less than three hours and after an unfortunate accident where the phone dropped out of my purse and the glass needs replacing :(

We're glad it all worked out for you. Now be more careful with the new one! :) Is it the same color?

AND THIS is why I became an Apple customer. I brought my week old "New iPad" in with a dent on the volume rocker that was pressing the key down and preventing anything from working. They replaced it.

What other company replaces (even occasionally) a product that was obviously damaged due to an accident or abuse? Apples prices are high, but they really do take care of their customers.

At the time I was so grateful and fearful that I bought AppleCare+ on my iPad.

I think I just talked myself into buying a rMBP instead of a PC equivalent (if/when the arrive). Of course I'll still load Windows on it. :p

Yes great job, your link has negated her personal experience. Bravo

Or he's merely pointing out that she may just have had bad luck  Bravo, your comment has negated his experience of just being helpful with information ;)

Who cares.

Ah, love the nihilist approach, however the truth is that this won't work when confronting a variety of law enforcement officers or their counterparts.
They tend to have a different take on it. Then again, if one can somehow manage to evade these types, then this philosophy becomes more practical. Of course, one can 'seek' incarceration, but i've personally never heard of that.

Children often say this I would imagine. Not to say your a child, but a child has no need to worry as it's their parents who would do the time. :)

No, it doesn't negate her personal experience. But her personal experience won't apply to all phones, which is what the video shows. It also shows what I said... It's not that fragile.

Sad, but none of us know how far from the ground it fell, how fast was she walking, running, nor onto what surface it fell on, etc.

These drop test account for nothing...

Many factors come into play..lets take for example pavement during a bunch of those drop test..

If the pavement is rectit will be very flat and very smooth...chances of the phone screen shatter? Slim..

The older the pavement gets the more highs and lows it gets(like mountains) ALLL it takes is for one of those high spots to hit the screen and its done, first drop, brand new out of store...doesn't matter how strong it is.

Direct impact on the corner will usually shatter it also...

Don't bank on being able to drop your phone because a drop test showed it lasted 10 drops. All it takes is one...

Try going to an apple store and explain what happened. Another member has a thread on here where his iPhone 5 was dropped as well and the glass shattered. He went into the Apple store and they replaced it for free. Just be honest and friendly, worst they can do is say no and give you a price quote for repairs.

Meaningless. Staged on Apple's behalf.

The crew in Cupertino never miss a trick. :)

yes

they created 198 other pro android videos in order to give this one video some credibility

that cupertino crew are certainly crafty :)

Did you demand they replaced it with a scuff free phone?

If so, why not? It looks like there are plenty of posts about why people deserve it to be. Don't tell me their great customer service made you forget about such a hugely important thing as a scuff!

In all seriousness, this is why I am a customer too. This is the only company on the planet that would tolerate customers demanding they open box after box over "scuffgate".

Good for Apple for taking care of you. Sadly that niceness brings some abuse their way too.

:apple:
