I called apple today, and was informed my upgrade had been blocked by Verizon... for a reason no one could answer.
I called Verizon, everything is fine on my account, no reason for this to happen.
A Senior Lead at Apple's call center said my order will probably be cancelled and i will have to re order the phone.
I probably get to wait another month, if it even works the second time.
Same with me. Expected date is Monday but I assume it'll get to me in Oregon before the weekend. Woo!
Shipping two day air from Dallas/Fort Worth Airport. Expected delivery on Friday. Nifty!

Something interesting just happened though. I called the automated 1-800 number for checking your order status. Before it would tell me the product I ordered is on back order. 5 minutes ago when I called it told me my order has been received and is being processed. Could that mean I'm coming off back order soon?

That means it is off backorder. Mine used to say that backorder thing and after it came off of backorder online, I called the automated system and it said received and processed.
Weird, the website still shows as back order...
Edit: Just checked the site and it shows a 0 next to Quantity Back Ordered...

Something isn't right.
My girlfriend and I both ordered a factory unlocked iPhone 5, on October 18. I actually ordered my iPhone 5 before her. We ordered from Apple.ca and both got a white 64GB.
Her status just changed to preparing to ship today and mine is still processing. Not to mention, the estimated delivery date for us was November 20th-26th, if I'm not mistaken.
I asked her to call Apple, and to just be polite and kinda give a compliment at how fast they shipped her phone and to see if she could ask them how it was shipped so much earlier.
She did, and the lady she spoke to didn't give her a straight answer and said she didn't know.
I'm not upset, as I really don't mind waiting. I just feel bad that so many people ordered in September and still don't have their phone. Maybe she got lucky...?

Mine is flawless too! Sadly, I have no case for it, so it will be chilling at home until I can find a nice rubbery one. All the ones I saw at Best Buy looked like they'd scratch it just trying to put it in.
Try the OtterBox Commuter.
The first layer is rubber, then you snap on a harder plastic shell. It's kind of pricey but it comes with a screen protector.

Ordered 16gb iPhone 5 black straight through apple on October 10 and was wondering when most people are getting theirs? It says i should get it between nov 8-15 and was asking if this is an accurate time. Its shipping to Miami. Thanks!

I'd say that it usually ships during the 3rd week. I ordered mine on 10/11 and will probably expect it to ship between Nov 1-7.
Good news guys.. It came! What was funny was my wife was sitting in the car in the parking lot at work and she texted me saying a UPS truck was backing in beside her, and he had a small box. Turned out it was my phone!

I will have my phone on Friday the 26th, exactly 4 weeks from the day I ordered it, been a long wait !!!
