iPhone 5 Shipped Thread

Can confirm that in my case it was definitely the billing phone number and not the shipping phone number. Very strangely, when I search that number (two orders associated with it for my phone and my wife's phone) it shows *three* orders. It even says "Your search found 3 packages matching your package reference criteria." However, two of them are the same tracking number... Not sure what that's all about. Some kind of glitch in the system I guess.

Ours are a 64GB Black and 64GB White AT&T GSM models, week 33 production (August) and week 37 production (September) respectively. Friday can't come soon enough! The auctions for our 4S's end tomorrow night so going to have to cope with dumbphones for 3.5 whole days... /shudder

Mine has shipped from China via ups. When checking by reference at ups.com and using your telephone number, omit the dashes and it should come up.

If it's "World Express" it should deliver by 10:30am, if it's "Express Saver" it should be end of day.

Same. In previous years I've seen both a time where it showed a "by 10:30" with the phone showing up shortly after 10:00 and last year it didn't show any time next to the date and I got the 4S at almost 7:00pm at night. Last year our driver said they added on a ton of drivers to help with the load, but I think it was hit or miss if one of those drivers delivered your package early or if your regular driver just delivered it as they would on any other day.

For those of you having trouble tracking, there are 6 tracking reference numbers in my UPS shipment (The 4th one is my billing/iPhone phone number and the 6th one is my order number, not sure what the other 4 numbers are):

Status on apple's site is still preparing for shipment but ups says otherwise...

so how is it possible that itll take 5 days to go from TN to chicago?

EDIT: just realized it says it is being shipped by next day air saver, so im thinking theyre going to hold onto it until friday...if they reached a chicago branch does anyone think id be able to go and pick it up in case they were just going to hold onto it?

My phone is currently in ZhengZhou, China.

For those of you who ordered the 4S... Did Apple start shipping phones out early like they did with the 4? When i preordered the 4, i got mine shipped a day early. I was wondering if maybe the reason ios6 comes out on 9/19 is because they plan on shipping the iphone 5's 2 days early to help lighten the load on the shippers.
 
I'm potentially very happy that I'm not babysitting for my UPS guy on Friday! :eek:

(Although, I don't expect a heavy volume of orders here in my neck of the woods so really it probably won't be any later than his normal 7-7:30 fridays)

Quick and go sign up for UPS MyChoice. It will email you when it hits for delivery with a window for delivery. Which cracks me up. Not that the time will be accurate this time - but at least you would know if you are a morning or afternoon delivery.

If your pay the $40 you can schedule the delivery when it works for you too. I just use the free service and call my UPS guy. Although, I did joke I was going to sign up and schedule just to throw his whole day off! :D

select track by reference, then in the shipment reference line type your phone number and fill in destination zip code. if its shipping by ups, it should be trackable.
 
World Express, Next Day Air, etc etc.

UPS and Fedex have standard terms. One of them has to be on all shipments. Their agreement with Apple/ATT/etc is probably a special one and may allow for variances in "normal" procedures. I really laugh when I see that some think they might get a refund if not delivered "ontime". Come on. They surely did not pay anywhere near the "normal" shipping price, due to volume.

Just amazed that nobody has thought through that.

Thanks, I tried this but nothing came up. I'll give it some time and try again later. Maybe it will be there then!
 
Finally got Preparing for Shipment after being stuck at processing since the morning of preorders. I was quick to reserve and then got told two weeks, thankfully Apple sent me that apology email shortly after. CAN'T WAIT!
 
"Preparing for shipment" phase as well. Awesome! Tried the UPS tracking but didn't work for me. Oh, well...probably get the tracking number tomorrow. ;)
