its a squished iphone 4

its looks like an iphone 4 but squished - sureely if it was real the photographer would supply a much higher res photo than 15dpi

:p

The person's "recent" joining may be a cover for the true identity of the individual; it could be for personal reasons.

The photograph may have gone through photoshop because the picture was taken by a much lower quality camera. The photoshop may be to enhance visibility of the phone's details due to poor lighting or low resolution, and the hand/surrounding picture was not a priority for the author to edit, as long as the center of the focus was clear to audience.

Just maybe.. my $0.02

EDIT: by the looks of the picture, the phone may be set on the table on edge on top of a white paper, and leaning on the hand, so the picture was taken with the camera directly above the table/surface(maybe?). The hand pose was merely to maximize the view of the device.

With reference to the missing SIM Card slot. It's a long shot, but it could be an integrated SIM? or possibly CDMA? those could explain the slot not being there.

I'm sure Apple were looking into the possibility of integrated Sim cards, so that isn't a completely unreasonable explanation for the lack of sim slot on the picture.

The photoshop edited 'Tag' on the photo data can also be explained too. They had to add the pixilation somehow. Some might not buy the whole needing to disguise their hands thing but it isn't too far fetched.

It could be fake, but I don't think Apples design would change greatly from that of the iPhone 4. They obviously had to rethink the design to make the Antenna more reliable, but otherwise, the iPhone 4 is beautiful, if not a little 'square'. I would be very happy with this, even if it is just the new cheaper iPhone (presuming there is one). I like it... a lot.:p

Identify the hands?? Seriously?

Does this remind anyone else of the scene in the movie Grease, where the principal was announcing over the intercom that the students who mooned the cameras at the big dance were in the process of being identified by the FBI, so they may as well turn themselves in?

I still find it strange in a day of hi res cameras in your pocket, someone purposely taking a photo of an unannounced iPhone that apple holds in secret almost as well as the US government keeps some of its projects, that its of such low resolution.

I'll admit, this is the most convincing one I've seen, but the photo quality, or lack their of, kind of gives it away as a fake. Even more so that I now know a "French operator" is basically a french mobile phone company, which I would assume, would have a pretty well stocked store full of phones with a better camera then what this was takin with.

Taking this with huge grain of salt

Actually, I figure we just send this to CSI and have them magically turn this into a 8mp quality photo, so we can get the fingerprints of the guy who held the phone with such grace, then have have Horatio put his shades on and say "Thats why we have an App for that..." *cue music*

that can't be the next iPhone it looks to cheap, it might be the new low cost alternative but not the new premium one

It looks plastic, cheap, and the biggest throw off of all that I'm surprised most people haven't noticed is that there are no volume rockers.

I personally think it's ugly.

"Too bad for him..."
*puts on glasses*
"...you can't photoshop fingerprints"
YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

It's obviously fake guys. You guys are so gullible. If you even read the thread, you'd see other people photoshopped their own iPhones to replicate the original photo. Seriously.

Are you talking about the image pretty much everyone has agreed is a squashed iPhone 4?

Maybe some people don't have time to read 12 pages of post that will mostly say the same thing (I belive it or I don't), maybe they have one of those "life" things I keep hearing about. Give people a break man, Srsly.

I was thinking more along the lines of Porky's when they had to line up and identify the "tallywacker".

There's just no way that is real. Look at the mass pixelation on the hands and the background and there is almost no pixelation on the iPhone itself? Yeah right.

Everyone that is a day late is saying the same stuff that's been said over and over and over and over. READ the thread before posting. Either way, it's been proven to be fake.

iphone 5

That is the iphone 4. It is so obvious that is the iphone 4.
