iPhone 5 : the first picture !!!

This looks fake. There are no volume buttons and as others have said the icons are on the wrong side on one of the pics. Before anyone says the volume buttons will be on the other side, look at the 2 pictures one shows left side one shows right side. This looks as fake as they come.

It's a mirrored image... everything is backwards, so of course there are no buttons on that side.

...... You're joking, right? That's not pictures of both sides of the phone. It's the original picture (which was backwards) and then the flipped version (so that it's forwards). It's the same picture, just reversed. Did you even look at it?

The volume buttons and SIM tray would then still be on the left side of the phone, just like they are now.

As someone mentioned previously, the pixelated hands could have been to hide their identity (seriously illegal to leak a picture like this if you've signed an NDA).

If this is in fact the "iPhone 5" it may be the 4S they are talking about. the screen doesn't look any bigger. and the whole captive home button thing is missing. IMO it kinda looks like a slightly modded iPhone 3GS considering i don't see a front facing camera, but who knows. I guess we'll find out sometime mid september.

If you look closely, the "Airplane mode" has the new iOS 5 style toggles. I think it's legit. Whether it is iPhone 5 or the cheaper 4, that remains to be seen.

Noticed that as well. I suppose someone could be running iOS5b4 on their iPhone4 and squished down the phone pic... and then pixelated the hands? But that seems like a bit more of a stretch, because what would the point of pixelating the hands be?

One would think that if they were going to make a fake, they'd choose a picture of hands that matched up with the lighting and resolution of the phone image. It's not like there aren't thousands of pictures of hands to use. Seems logical then that the pixelation of the hands was intentional.

Whatever it is, it's definitely running iOS 5.

It's not that I don't like it, I do. But I was just expecting it to be a bit more different than the iPhone 4. If this actually turns out to be the real deal then I'm going to have to hold it in my hands and see if it's actually worth getting. Otherwise I guess I'll have to stick with my iPhone 4 and wait for the next one

If it were just photoshopped in, why would they not have taken an extra 30 seconds and picked a photo of hands that matches the brightness and resolution of the phone, rather than use some crappy pixelated one that looks like it doesn't belong.

It seems more likely to me that they're trying to hide their identity than pass off the worst 'shop of all time.

With reference to the missing SIM Card slot. It's a long shot, but it could be an integrated SIM? or possibly CDMA? those could explain the slot not being there.

I realized that right as I posted. Could also be that due to the thinner design, the SIM slot was moved to the bottom (or no SIM slot at all, SIM stored inside phone?).

Either way, I kind of hope this is real just because it looks great.
