Wow, I am impressed. For the few random drops in the first video and the many in the second video, it held up better than I thought it would when I first started watching.

Cheap plastic, cheap construction and the fandroids can no longer use the excuse that it is more durable.

Apparently what iFix Your I discovered was that you have to literally throw the iPhone 5 at the ground face down to get any serious damage. Nice.

This is why they make cases for these phones. Why pay 300 bucks and not protect it.

You drop anything on a surface like that with no case and it's going to scratch. I love how his beloved Galaxy came apart, ROTFLMAO! That cheap piece of plastic just popped right off that ugly brick!

As for the iPhone 5, I'm pretty impressed. I have my 4 in an Otterbox because I am clumsy and I do drop things, but even as clumsy as I am I've never even dropped my phone from the height of my ear standing. Out of my pocked all the time, or out of my purse, but that's been about it. I couldn't pre-order the 5 like I did the 4 because of timing, but it'll be mine in a few weeks. I can't wait!

BTW, even with that performance, mine will be in a case of some sort but seeing how well it holds up it might not be an Otterbox this time. I can't wait to get this phone!

I'm actually very impressed with the ip5! It seems to hold up very well which is awesome! I'm going to add insurance to my phone this time since i don't ever want to buy a smartphone at full retail after losing my phone last year.

Alright i think i'm about 90% sure i'm getting an ip5!

Awesome! I drop my iPhone 4 pretty regularly -- twice yesterday :). Don't know why, but there's something about it that just likes to be dropped I guess. Both front & back glass are broken, as was the glass of the lady's 4 at the cafe table next to me yesterday -- "hey, we match" turned out not to be a great pickup line. Very psyched to see this one should be more durable. Looking forward to delivery.

besides NFC and screen size, what is the s3 better in, in terms of hardware?

* Screen resolution
* screen tech (OLED - better contrast ratio)
* 2x more RAM
* wireless charging
* two baseband chips (simultaneous LTE data and voice)
* bigger battery (better battery time for talk and stand by)
* wireless charging
* memory card (more storage)

I love the butt-hurt from the Android site. They're so disappointed that the iPhone did better in a drop test.

Of course, now that the phone has been out a few hours, isn't it time for a front page story from those douchebags at Will it blend?

That's comforting to know, your easily scratched iPhone with a poor map app is more durable than those before it.

Props

Hey, gotta give some credit for an objective test, with seemingly unbiased feedback (I haven't watched the vid, just read the post.)

I do find it funny though....both sides of the fence love what they love, and criticize the s*** out of it for the downfalls. Tough Love! :cool:

Stupid Gravity, always working! ;)

Very impressive. Much better than the 4 and 4S for sure. Apple was probably sick of all the repairs and bad press about that. Glad they went back to an aluminum back. I had been missing that since the original.

And forward sensors to monitor eye interaction.

But one of the benefits of sealing a phone is evident in the video. Making the casing easy to enter to replace components, also means introducing very weak points into the shell design.
