Certain damage is ineligible for out-of-warranty service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications. However, an iPhone that has failed due to contact with liquid may be eligible for out-of-warranty service.
Out of warranty replacement is $229 for any model
they changed from 150? or is that for 4s? and lesser?
Per Apple's website, an out-of-warranty iPhone 5 replacement is $229.

Awesome, that is better than 645 $ I don't feel so bad now. I wonder if they can't fix it, will they provide a new one. I am still hopeful this one will be alive in a few days
They won't fix your current phone and give it back to you. They will give you a refurbished one.
Refurbished one should be alright. I mean it wont have any cosmetic damages right ?
OP, you can check the liquid indicator found in the SIM card slot to determine if the warranty is still valid or voided. Sent from my iPhone 5.
OP. you have 2 options. Drill a hole through your now dead iPhone 5. Run a big gold chain through the home and wear your iPhone as a fashion accessory. Totally baller.
Second is to jump in front of a slow moving Mercedes. Claim that getting hit by the car broke your phone and maybe the driver will give you cash for a new one.
I see no other options.
If I took the Iphone 5 bling route, how could I ensure the hole I drill stays clean and uniform ?
Hey at least you're not sour graping over it all. Crap happens.
Kudos on having a great attitude about it.
It's just a phone after all
Blasphemy!!!!!!
Blasphemy on this site anyway.
You shouldn't have turned it on. You had a slim chance of it working before you did so, and now you have basically zero chance.
About 95% of the water is gone. The rest is near the LCD. I think its going to be alright tommorow
It will work for sure but it will going to die in a few weeks. I've done it in my 4th gen iPod.
Put it a lot of socks the throw it in the dryer.
Remember that your moisture sensor already turned pink. No way you can return your iphone for warranty replacement.
Enjoy it while it last..
