Very slow download thru itunes. The screen has weird patters because of some moisture stuck there but I think that will go away with time. If It holds a charge and makes calls, I'm good.

It will work for a while but it will die eventually, maybe a week, maybe a month. The problem isn't so much the water as it is the corrosive elements IN the water, which remain to degrade the components even after the water
dries away.

Enjoy it, say your good byes, and make arrangements. But really, treat it like a queen these next few days. They will be her last.

Alright it's dead Jim. I need a phone by Monday, I'm off to the apple store

Aww. I thought this was going to be a thread about controlling your washing machine with a phone. damnit

Alright got a Refurb one at the apple store. I noticed a little nick on the corner but did not make a big fuss about it and took it. Had to get a new Sim card too since the other one had alot of soap scum etc.. on it. Lesson learned.

Hmmmm, I left my water damaged phone at the store. I wonder if I got to keep it or if its standard they hold on to it ?

That sucks big time. I've washed a lot of stuff in my pockets before (money, Chapstick, etc.), but luckily never my iPhone! Hope you get it all worked out.

Once you get a replacement they take your old one and send it back to be taken apart and salvage any parts they can use.

Ah. Sorry your phone is dead. But it was inevitable. I remember when my Droid died, back in the days before I went to Apple. I made a little wooden funeral pyre, set her gently on a miniature pillow my wife had as decoration in the living room, soaked her in pure gasoline, and lit the match. The flames were beautiful, alternating between gold and blue, and I even saw a few wisps of green. When she was done burning, even the glass screen had melted. Yes, even the famed Gorilla Glass was not strong enough to ward away the heat of death.

But yeah, it makes sense that Apple would want to keep your old one.
