We're very close to WWDC, like everybody else is saying, hold out until June 6th to see what Apple has to offer. I got my iPhone 4 in January this year, so maybe I'll upgrade to the iPhone 6 next year. What I'm really excited for this year is SOFTWARE, iOS 5 is gonna be killer!

We havent even seen a beta of iOS 5 yet. I think we can rule out a new iPhone during WWDC in June.

They can always be debuted side-by-side, both being available in the Fall. They can even debut hardware now if they wanted to, as they have an OS they can place on it with iOS5 as an upgrade when available.

The main sticking point would be if iOS5 would have any hardware specific features. For example, If NFC is introduced in a new iPhone model, or if new functioning hardware was placed on the model, you would most likely need to debut both at the same time if they depend on one another. No sense in releasing a product with capabilities to be unlocked in the future.

Problem with debuting too far ahead of release is it will stop iPhone 4 sales dead in their tracks.
