Nothing wrong with the 5C. There is with Apple still selling 8GB phones. Robbery.

The iPhone 5C is my first iphone, so I don't notice what it lacks - it's simply great to have music, the Internet, a decent camera in my pocket wherever I go.

And once my contract ends and the iphone 6S is released I'll experience a huge upgrade.

Really surprised by this. I live in the UK and can count on one hand the number of iPhone 5Cs I have seen in public. Plenty of 5/5s's , even many 4/4s but I genuinely hardly ever see a 5c in use.

I am glad Windows Phone is increasing market share as it's such a quick and easy OS to use.

Really? Seems like WP market share is basically static or falling in every territory apart from Spain and Italy

I beg to differ. I've noticed 5C in blue and pink are popular on London buses, esp with school kids - you know, the ones who go one stop because it's free (it shows).

Sure the specs are nothing special, but brand trumps all. And once at school it's Mac all the way. Clever, those folks at Apple.

are you basing your post on multiple positive sales reports for the 5c or is this the first one you have seen?

i would think if it were so successful they would continue the c and update it every year but then again the names and versions of the iphones and ipads is a jungle.

Because they are still selling the 5s at a reduced price. Last year they discontinued the s and went with the c. This year they are keeping the 5s and keeping the c. It wouldn't make sense to make a c out of the 5s while still selling the 5s.

I don't think the 5C was a flop by any means. To me, it was just the regular evolution of the iPhone 5. Once the 5s was released, the 5 dropped in price by $100, and people coule purchase it if they wanted.

How many iPhone 5s's will be sold now that the 6 has been released? Not as many as the 6 I will bet. I feel the same way about the 5C.

I continue to be baffled as to why some people think the 5c is a crappy phone. Afterall, it is basically an iphone 5 in a plastic case sans the battery issue.

I do not see it as a phone for non-techies, because let us face it the 5c can do almost everything the 5s can do and the average iphone user is not a techie.

And then in the period covered by this article, it got far cheaper again. For the last month could easily get contracts that effectively priced the 16GB 5C at £350, and the 32GB 5C at £400. (And probably even better offers if you dug around.)
Yep. A couple of weeks ago I entered into a two year Tesco Mobile contract for a 32GB @ £16pcm, so £384. Was too good to resist.

Have just had another look at the Tesco Mobile website and they're out of stock on all 32GB models. The 16GB is the same price, but even there they've run down to only the white and pink.

that android sales chart is so misleading,

they're not selling galaxies or notes, A LOT of the are probably low end phones

a bunch of people who cant afford 6+, 6, or 5S for their kids or dont want to.

honestly 32 GB should of been the base and 5C should of had 16GB

that 5C only has 4GB of storage with the OS installed.

now i didnt say make a c out of last years s. just keep it alive.

as ive said before i think the whole naming scheme is a total mess (has been from the beginning).last year the c meant a year old phone while now it means a 2 year old phone. its confusing. there is no identity with the model which is what i thought they wanted given the marketing they put into it.

however as off topic as it is i think they should offer new phones in more than just the two sizes.

Since they are still selling it this year it's still alive.

so is the ipod nano, shuffle and classic (until few weeks ago) but i dont know if its trying to split hairs purposely or just diverting but its got nothing to do with my point.

Then your point has nothing to do with your comment. You said something about keeping the c alive, they are doing that by continuing to sell it, period. Whatever point you are trying to make has nothing to do with the comment you made.

They are selling the c still, it's still alive. They won't create a c as they did last year because the 5s is still selling, still alive. That's all there is to it and I'm not going to draw any pictures.

your whole point revolves around your inability to understand the fact that i never said make a c from last years s. i said keep it alive which means updating and not letting it stagnate and wither. the notion that just because its still sold its alive is pure idiocy as the ipod classic just showed.

by specifically designing, releasing and marketing the c model last year it seemed they were departing from their old model of selling the past 2 years models. gruber and more shared that view if i recall correctly.

my original point and thoughts still stand.

I understand completely what you said and I was pointing out how they are keeping it alive regardless of your ridiculous "point".

Your inability go grasp that this is the only they CAN keep the c alive at this point is the problem.

yes this is the only way to keep the c around if everything else stays the same. however as ive clearly stated i (and many others) expected apple to handle the "lesser" version updates differently after the c was released.

if nothing was going to change then the point and all associated cost of the c becomes questionable. why bother?

if it has been such a huge success why devalue the c brand (which they put a lot of effort into) like this for the next 11 months?

these were my points in my first post and still are.

Toltepeceno and numlock: you two have completely lost me!

With just a single 'c' model released I don't think we can extrapolate the future of the 'c', or indeed whether or not the 'c' has a future.

But... I would have expected the 6c to be the current 6 reskinned in glorious polycarbonate and released at the same time as the 6s/6s+.

At the same time I hope that the 5s is reskinned as the 5c Mk2, giving us four, yes four, iPhones in the range. I think a significant percentage of existing iPhone users (and not just me) will be mightily pissed off if there are no further 4" options.

Apologies if one or other of you said the same thing. It all got terribly confusing for me.

:)
