iPhone 5s 64 gb too small

64GB isn't enough for my wants either. Only 57.23GB actual use on my iPod Touch.

The problem for me is that there isn't space to grow. When I was 14, my 10GB iPod did me just fine. But now I'm 25 and have a lot of music that I've been purchasing since then.

My Genius Mixes come out better when there's enough selection for it to pick from.

A typical iTunes U set of lectures goes from 5 to 10GB.

And you need like 10GB free to use iMovie without it complaining about space.

30 something apps are taking up 11GB on mine, and those are the minimum I use.

Sounds like the "instant gratification" generation to me.

I'm amazed that you are able to make that determination of me *and* my entire generation solely by how I use a smartphone. Are you actually miffed that I use a device differently than you do?

Which generation are you assuming I'm a part of?

People that say 64gb isn't enough space remind me of those same people who have an SUV or Minivan and say they don't have enough space.

I think thats to much. If it gets corrupted you might lose everything. My iPhone 5 is 32 GB and that's enough. What most people do is keep their content in the cloud.

64gb is a perfect size for me, 32gb is too small and 64gb is just right, 32gb would just barely fit my music, but I wouldn't be able to put any apps, pictures or and videos on it

That's true but I don't think I would listen to 64gb of music in a day or month. So what i do now is put what I listen in my iPhone and backup my music collection on my Macbook pro. Feels a bit safer

As long as someone manages the content on their iPhone with iTunes it's pretty simple.

When I had a 16GB iPhone, I made a playlist with only music that I played in the last 365 days. It always fit on the phone.

Now I have a 32GB iPhone with no music on it and a 128GB iPad with 95GB music on it and enough space for movies and videos.

Did people used to take all of their DVDs when they would go somewhere just in case they might be in the mood to watch something they haven't in years?

Or take all of their clothing with them when they would go on a trip just in case they might decide to wear something random they haven't put on in years?

Touché

Paying the kind of money Apple wants for each upgrade in memory for a device I change out every year or at worst every two years forced me to do a cost analysis and conclude that the cost wasn't justifiable.

My iOS apps backup in iTunes library weigh almost 200GB in total. I have a 4TB NAS filled ONLY with digital movies library. And that's barely enough. So to be honest, a storage can't never be too big. So it's all about good management. Bring what you have to.

You can have a 512GB iPhone and it will still not be enough once you recklessly fill it out with movies, musics and big apps.

So I don't see what's your point here?

You must NEVER be bored.

That's how they get you! I was so annoyed that the MORE storage you buy the MORE iOS takes. My 32GB iPhone only gets 28GB and my 64GB iPad only gets 57GB.

I have no idea how anyone can use up 64GB of space on a phone. Why would you fill your phone with 64GB worth of apps when you probably don't use 90% of them. I have a rule where I only install apps that I will use of a regular basis. When it comes to things like video, I only sync something I plan on watching that day.. For example, if I have to take a long train journey somewhere I will sync a movie and then unsync it when I get back home.

I get by just fine on 16GB

Music - 5GB
30 apps - 1GB
Photos - 200MB
Other (stupid iOS bug) - 2GB

Other isn't a bug, unless it was caused by a corrupted sync. It is your contacts, offline reading lists, local documents, texts, etc. Plus, a lot of local app storage can end up there. 1-2GB seems pretty normal.

how many apps are you running? i had a 32gb iphone5 and it was nice to have extra room but i got the 16gb 5s and ended up finding out what i really needed.

I have a 32gb and i have over 23 gigs available.

I only keep songs i really like and apps that i know that i use. I also delete photos that i dont like.

I could have opted for the 16 gig :/

I bought an iPhone 5s 64 gb last month and it's full already. Just from apps. I'm impressed people get by with 16 gb and still have room for music.

Save space my deleting some apps!

Aapple just sitting back laughing at the people wanting 64gb+. $100+ for extra storage is outrage, thanks to you all

I don't keep music on my iPhone. I just stream from SiriusXM, iTunes Radio or Pandora. 32GB is more than enough for me.
