iPhone 5s accelerometer/gyroscope/compass values incorrect

I visited the Apple Store in Orlando last week and compared the compass readings on the 5s's on display with each other and with my 4S. Suffice to say that they all disagreed with one another and in some cases by a substantial margin ie >90 degrees. This was not a scientific test and although they were not close to one another they could each be affected by the building in different ways.
