I agree with you on this one. So much room on the bezel is wasted because of the big round home button. I've seen several of these break or fail over time. Just do a search for "Broken iPhone Home Button" in Google and you'll get pages of articles about faulty buttons.

Apple could make a capacitive home button and if they wanted to, include a screen print of the apple logo where it would be. It could light up when touched, similar to how the back and menu buttons do on the Galaxy S4 and Windows Phones. This would make having a larger screen on the iPhone easier.

have you not taken into consideration the speakers, microphones, plug? There is a lot more down there than just a home button.

I like the photos on the french site showing the outside of the case, looks almost like a stainless steel metallic color. I really hope they don't release the same crappy anodized job they did with the 5.

Am I the only one that dreads this time of year when all the blogs can cover nothing except every little nut and bolt of the new phone no matter how trivial.

How about some details on the Mac Pro or some great App, or the Kardashians, or anything that is actually interesting or useful!!!

Sorry, just really bored with it all already!

ugh.. wheres my bigger screen? fail.. an now thanks to this crap they are probably holding of on the mbp update till october. fail apple.

Looks like they were able to shrink the PCB down some more. This probably means the 5S will have a bigger battery, so hopefully much better battery life is in our future.

I noticed this too! I am hoping we can see a 25-50% usage increase on the battery between new technology, new processor, new iOS, and extra space. They were able to get 50% increase on the MacBook Air so I am hoping they can do it here too.

no thanks on capacitive button. Capacitive button are part of what I hate about any android phones I try.

That would be great!

Wow, it looks so much like last years model since we cannot take the phone apart to see the guts anyway. This is very impressive flim flam. Introduce the 5S as new when in reality its so last year. Amazining.:(

You should check your post history. You've pissed and moaned for two years about everything... Maybe shake things up with a witty anecdote or positive comment from time to time.

As someone with an iPhone 4, I look forward to the new iPhone. Time for an upgrade.:)

I concur. Been waiting patiently to upgrade :)

As a side note, this time around, there have been very few leaks about the 5S. This probably is the best kept secret by Apple since whenever leaks started happening!

Wasn't there a leak that the battery capacity had been increased from 5.45 Whr to 5.92 Whr? Though it was suggested that is was most probably for an early prototype. Lot of things could have changed since then.

Seems really unlikely that would make the home button convex and have a fingerprint scanner. Any fingerprint scanner would require the home button to be either flat or concave. A convex finger print scanner obviously wouldn't match the shape of your finger tip and would likely have a reduced contact area (unless you press quite hard) - making it a useless shape for reading finger-prints.

If it was me, I'd change the stupid big round button into a small metal one (matching the size and shape of the power button, and also the earphone cutout). This would make the phone more symetrical top to bottom and also reduce the area needed meaning the phone could have a reduced bezel size or larger screen.

I disagree. I think he should stay true to form and whine about everything. Its makes it easier to appreciate the truly insightful comments on this blog. :D

Why is nobody mentioning the obvious NFC spiral antenna at the top middle of the picture? Has NFC already been previously confirmed?

Hopefully this doesn't mean there is nothing worth hiding.
