these minor changes never matter, there should be more leaks about the new A-series chip, the fingerprint scanner etc. we wanna know more about those things. how come there are no leaked benchmark results of the new A-series chip.

No one cares about the Note 3, please. If people find out before announcement (which they always do, though I believe it is a strategic "leak" on their part) fine, but the new Note will never be "news", not like a new iPhone. It's because of this point that the iPhone leaks early – people WANT to know and there are enough people involved (due to their part quantities) and enough of a reward for those who leak them to guarantee they will in fact continue to leak. The only way to really prevent that is use less people but make smaller quantities to tighten the supply chain. The Note isn't produced in the quantities of an iPhone so the chances (if anyone wanted to take them) are lower – especially since they manufacture their own devices.

Apple had done all it can to lock them down, unless you would rather them take the drug dealer route and have all the employees work in their underwear to make sure no one is taking anything.

no one cares about the note 3? you serious? the note series (although it offers really BIG phones) sells in millions, it is a really successful line, it has been so successful that every other phone manufacturer is considering bringing out their own phablet (even apple), if it hadn't been successful we would have never seen the LG optimus G pro, Xperia Z ultra, HTC on Max, etc. after the galaxy S line it's the most successful android smartphone line.

but the thing is, i wasn't talking about this, i was saying that apple needs to stop these leaks, it kills all the "surprise factor", the note 3 was just an example, tak ONE max for example, we haven't seen SO MANY leaks of that phone either, if other companies can keep their phones under wraps till the last minute then so can apple, apple needs to do more.

Again, are you telling me that the general audience cares more about any of those phones MORE than the new iPhone? If so, you have a very skewed view of popular culture. The new iPhone is a BIG STORY, more people will be willing to leak that because it will be worth more to journalists. Apple make WAY more of their devices so it's harder to keep a lid on them – people WANT to know. Apple is doing everything they can – and they will continue to do more – however it is the manufacturing partners employees who are doing the leaking... they need to tread lightly in accusations because there are only so many companies that can build to the scale and precision needed by apple. If they alienate a partner they loose the ability to keep their expected units up.

BTW - you have no idea what other manufacturers are "considering". If apple wanted a "phablet", they would have done more that switch to 16:9 when they changed the screen size. We would have seen it in the code for iOS 7. It's a niche market, apple won't bite since it makes mass market phones. Unless you are part of apple, you don't know. The Note is a Galaxy with a pen.

i can live with typing my passwords from time to time. what i would find very useful is the fingerprint reader being used to allow user switching on ipads from the lock screen by simply touching the sensor area.

Mr.Eric Schmidt, don't you work at Google? What are you doing on this site?

i agree that audiences care more about the iphone than the note, but you cant say that: no one cares about the note 3.

are you telling me that the world's most valuable company works with manufacturers who cant keep the device under wraps? is that the standard of companies apple works with? is apple really that stuck in this mess? is the worlds most valuable company really that dumb? the thing is there's a contract between apple and the manufacturers which sets the security level, for more security you need to SPEND more (which apple is not willing to do) so, it's a mistake on apple's part

BTW - looks like you aren't reading these leaks, beacuse a recent leak told us that apple IS considering a phablet

All I'm saying is that no one I know cares about the note... I know one person who has one and they just got it because it was free... she's already disappointed with it.

Apple isn't stupid, just don't have options... when you ship as much as apple does there are very few manufacturers who do your volume. If a leak comes out, they can't pull out of that contract because where would they go? No one else can match the output. SO they do their little dance... Apple gets made Hon Hei/foxcon promises it won't happen again and they work something out to appease Apple... then someone does it again. If you follow rumours, you know how this works, or you're just trolling...

Speaking of which, those "leaks" are ********... just a story fandroids like to glom onto to make it seem like someone else besides apple is setting the trend in the smart phone market. Apple has no need for a "phablet" – with the iphone ipad and iPad mini, the phablet has no place in the lineup. Anything larger than 5' is just stupid anyways –*like I want to hold up a magazine to my face for phone calls.

Phablets are >5"... but everything between 4,3 and 5" is perfectly fine. I would never go back to that tiny 4", or even worse 3,5", screen.

Say goodbye to the iPhone because the next one most certainly will ship with a larger screen... at least if Apple isn't stupid ;-)

Agree to disagree. I like the 4" and the next one will obviously be the same as the 5 – stupid would be to change the screen size again and have more fragmentation so that developers need to do more work.

By next I obviously meant the iPhone 6 (or whatever it will be called).

Work or not, it's overdue and needed.

No, it's not. It's a niche and it will fade. Not everyone wants a big phone. The only people complaining about it are people with larger phones from other camps. If you are happy with your cell-enabled notepads, that's all well and good but not everyone wants them and those that do end up regretting it later.

Right.. a niche.. in your dreams.

Every flagship device has a larger screen, and the iPhone well catch up eventually too.

You are right. Every flagship device does have a larger screen – except for the worlds most popular phone... the one that everyone lines up for... that every other company needs to release two or three "flagship" phones to match and yet still becomes an "also ran".

Please.
Apple has no catching up to do in that department. A bigger screen size – to borrow a troll's comment – "...is that innovation?"... no, it's not. I'd prefer my phone fit in my pocket, thanks... i have a tablet for the other stuff. If you need a bigger screen, what you might really need is glasses.

1) next time, be clear!
2)! either you live in stone age or i am too advanced.
3) you made that up!

"Most popular" means nothing.... and all the other phones wouldn't be that successful if no one wanted it. Most phones I know still fit in your pocket, except the phablets, but you carry those in an extra bag anyway.

Apple already entered the catch-up-game by increasing the size to 4" last year, and they will increase it again 2014. And I bet you'll be the first guy defending the 'amazing new screen size'.

1) lol.I thought I was being clear!
2) I don't know what this comment was for. I know I definitely don't live in the stone age.
3) Not sure what you think I made up!! If you mean that apple doesn't need a phablet, then you are right in a sense. I don't work for apple anymore so I have no idea what their future plans are as of now, but an educated guess tells a simple story. Phablets are for customers who want to buy just one device to do everything. Apple doesn't do that, they make 4 separate device (iPod touch, iPhone, iPad Mini iPad) to do the things that they do, right. The 5c I will put in the same category as all iPhones because it's only purpose is to be cheaper (not another size or shape or device line, like note and galaxy). Some niche people may want one, but not enough to notice in sales... that's for sure.

No actually, that is the most important thing. If everyone wanted a Phablet and if Apple not having one was a detriment then the iphone wouldn't be popular. Everywhere an iPhone sells well, phablets are also available – people are just preferring the iPhone.

They didn't catch up, they went widescreen. The portrait width never changed. Going to 4" got them to widescreen so that videos you take with your phone are at the right ratio. It also gave them an extra line of icons on the home screen. If they were trying to "catch up", they would have gone wide too. I don't want a bigger phone... I want it to be able to fit in my pockets. If you dislike apple products so much why are you here?

----------

i thought, i was gonna see a size increase or a redesign:(
i dont call this "change"

"s" models never change cosmetically from the previous model. No one should ever expect them to. The "s" model is the refined version of the previous model, where they've worked out the bugs they found in the last one and up the horse power as well as a little something extra. The last "s" model (4s) got Siri, 1080p recording as well as a much improved antenna and lens system. This one looks to get much of the same as well as a finger print sensor.

so, what are the changes?
