I've been experiencing this as well. In my case I have narrowed it down to this:
- If I press the home button then raise my finger then place on home button again to Touch ID unlock, I get a reset 50% of the time, or thereabouts
- When I press the home button but LEAVE MY FINGER ON IT, to Touch ID unlock, I am yet to have a reset

Reading about other random resets while using the phone, it wouild seem that different senarios, for different people, are causing the resets.

Few more points:
- It has only occured since ios 7.0.3 and has continued with 7.0.4
- It is NOT occuring on my iPhone 4S or iPad 3... so maybe a 64bit problem?
- Reduce motion has been off the whole time

Wow. Y'all certainly have issues with your phones. I have had my 5s for 9 days and have minimal problems like unresponsive touch screen at times. Some folks have complained about poor quality sound in calls. But none of what y'all are experiencing. I was going to list my old iPhone 4 on eBay tomorrow but am thinking I ought to hold onto it for awhile.

Do you think I ought to hold onto my iPhone 4 or sell it? I just don't know. I have the listing scheduled to start tomorrow night. But I do love the new 5s. The fp sensor is working well. No BSOD, no restarts. Just sometimes when I touch something it doesn't respond.

Well i am going to call Apple and return mine. I just dont want to pay 900€ for a crashing phone... I will buy it again if it gets fixed.

Replacement today.

Restored to new and setup as new phone. No dice. Wound up sending into Apple yesterday. Not happy about receiving a refurb as a replacement for my 6 week old 5s.

I'm staying on what it arrived as, 7.0.3, not upgrading to 7.0.4 as this was last upgrade before I started to have problems. Waiting until next one.

My iPhone crashed with a "blue screen of death" twice. On the second time, it would not restart. I cannot even restore it (it gives me an error (40) message). Anyone have this experience?

Taking it into the apple store tomorrow...

Such a bummer to read about all these crashes, great job on the reporting from everyone though.

Still crashing randomly once or twice a week. Last one just happened when I used my finger to unlock the phone. On iOS 7.0.4.

I've already replaced my 5S so it's not hardware.

I had numerous crashes on my 5s too. 'Reset All Settings' seemed to do the trick for mine. Currently on 7.1.
Can you try if with 7.1 it also doesn't crash in games (like Pocket God) anymore? Like the buttons becoming unresponsive?

It's ironic how my 5s has a springboard crash about once a week. However, I have owned my rMini for a week and I haven't had a springboard crash once. I'm hesitant to bring my 5s to Apple since other than the minor inconvienence, it's not a huge deal (it only seems to happen when I double click the home button to multi-task).

Received replacement from apple.

Received replacement from apple, leaving as received @ 7.0.3, so far no problems

I've had not a single problem with 7.0.4 on my iPhone 5s or my iPad Air. I don't know if it's buggy on other hardware but I haven't seen any issues. Well, I think maybe once Safari crashed and I had to restart it. I wonder if it's just luck which people have issues and which don't.

Did you try playing games like Pocket God for example? for me it crashed with that..

My guess is you restart your devices frequently. If you don't restart and use the device a lot, it's just a matter of time before the Springboard crashes.

I have experienced a couple of resprings, but never after the 7.0.4 update, though it might be unrelated.

5s 64g started doing this daily a few times after 7.0.3. 7.0.4 seemed to fix it but now back to where it was. It'll do it randomly in any app. I purposely close out of everything at night and when I wake up it will say that it has restarted (can't use touchid) every night. Plan to have genius bar replace this when I can get an appointment in.

I was wondering, since no one has posted in this thread for ages: Do people with new phones still have this problem or was it really a hardware issue?
Would be good to know if people who just bought their phones can play Pocket God for example for more than a few minutes without crashing!

I still have the occasional crash. I'm guessing it's a memory management issue fixable in a future update.

It doesn't happen as often, but it's still an issue in iOS 7.0.4. My iPhone 5S spring crashes about once a week. My iPad 2 does so less often, but I had one on it today.

With a phone that crashes so much, you have to wonder why it's so popular.

If it crashes even once, when I get my 5s, I'll be going back to the 5c.

IT is RUN OUT of RAM problem

I have this problem in both my iPhone 5S and iPad Air. Whenever this problem occurs, I would close all apps that I am no longer needed and the rebooting stop. You might want to give it a try. Hope Apple will resolve this with an update.

I disagree. I used to previously constantly close apps and it would still reboot with no open apps. My new 5s it's been 2 weeks now, I haven't closed any apps and it hasn't reboot on me at all yet. Maybe something got corrupted but whatever my new phone with November build has been perfectly fine.

If you can live with the 5c then why even get an s?! If it crashes so what, unless it's excessive but once? It's only software, the 5c crashes as well... As soon as the iOS gets updated properly the crashing will stop.

All phones crash, all computers crash... Blame the software / apps that are installed on them, unless it can be proven it's hardware.

Well actually, I had the 5c and the 5s and both of them seem to be running fine.
