iPhone 5S; Do you think the screen is too small?

Sadly, my eyes dictate that I need a bigger phone. If ios would allow pinch to zoom on EVERY Safari page, I'd be ok with it as is.

Ideal size? Not sure.

I don't. Personally I hope the 4.7 and 5.5 rumors are false and they keep the 4" screen for another 2 years.

One-handed use is pretty useful IMO. I tried a few android phones and the experience, size wise, was terrible.

I have to disagree in some ways. I do really like the one handed use of the iPhone. But web browsing and texting, etc on the beautiful android 5" screens is amazing!

Not for me.

For me it's like when someone says bigger is better. Not always true. I'd much rather have my 11" MBA over any 15" monster of a laptop any day of the week due to its portability.

Portability? Whats that? Do I need the phone to fit into my pocket or can I just carry it everywhere?

Way to miss the point

Obviously the 'portability' word was being used to explain how bigger is not always better for laptops.

As for smartphones, I wouldn't use the term 'portability' but instead would use the term 'one-handed use' to explain why bigger is not always better.

I didnt miss it, just trying to stay on the smartphone piece ;)

I rock a Macbook Air, big and bulky is not for me. Unless it means a 5" screen on a phone please! :apple:

The current iphone 5s is perfect for my taste. And I've used bigger phones before. I'm not a big person I dont give a ***** about bigger phones.

It's funny how it all works. When the iPhone came out (In 2007) the screen was HUGE. It was, at the time, the perfect screen size. Over the years it seemed just fine until larger screens started coming out, 4" never seemed too "big" and was the sweet spot for me, now the 4.7 don't seem too "big" either, while 5+ does. At least for me I think the 4.7 is the sweet spot. I personally don't watch a lot of video or anything on my phone, I have an iPad for that.

It's too small for me to upgrade from my 4S too. The 4S to 6 seems like a good jump. Looking forward to it.

I am sure Apple will continue to offer a current model for people with small hands:eek:

If they want to buy a 5S, they can get a 4" screen. Otherwise, the 4" screen is going away. People who wanted the larger screen had alternatives (non Apple). Unfortunately, people who want a smaller alternative will have none if they want to get the latest phone (any manufacturer).

Hey Guys, Do you think the iPhone 5S screen is too small,
and what would be the perfect size for a mobile screen ?

I personally think the iPhone 5S screen is a little too small.
I would prefer a 4.7 inch screen, and i think the Samsung Note 3
is a little too big for my tasting.

I sure hope Apple gets the act together and puts the iPhone 6 out soon,
i know a ton of people ditching Apple for Samsung and other Android devices...

I think the screen is too small. I would like around 5" screen, I could possibly even do 5.5" if there was no bezels :)

screen size

Absolutely! Its way too small. If it were simply and exclusively a "phone" then its perfect. However, you and others have introduced apps for video, movies, photography, word processing, keynote presentations, spreadsheets, among a million others. A small screen is useless when you use those apps that Apple so proudly markets in its store.

I think the size of the 5s is perfect for me as I have an iPad when I need a big screen. With this size phone it satisfies almost 99% of what I need to do. However a larger phone with the form factor of my mophie along with the battery life would be acceptable.

I love apple, and think they make fantastic and easy to use products.

I had an ipad 2, 3g, 4S and 5. I switched to a note 3 a few months back, and the screen size is the difference maker. Also due to the phone's size, the batter is bigger, and the batter life is longer.

I will gladly go back to Apple for my phone needs if they make a phablet sized alternative. It needs to happen.

No. I have a Note 3 and actually have found that for use as a phone, it's just not practical for me. I've had pretty large phones and up until I got my first iPhone (5c), I had no idea how much easier it is to maneuver a smaller device.

Like what happened yesterday. My guys tire blew out on his truck. His phone was dead and we needed to receive calls from AAA. So while negotiating getting out the spare tire, making/receiving calls, using the phones flashlight, etc I really found it easier to handle.

One handed use suddenly has become an important part of my routine. I'm still hoping a 6c with a 4" screen and 5s internals will show up.

4.7-5.7 is good to me. I've never seen a 6" phone but I think that would be the limit.

I prefer 5" over 4.7" as a size for a "big" phone. 5.5 and 5.7 are both good for "huge" phones.

4.7 is a good size for the iPhone. Seeing as most users will be coming from an iPhone and 5" may be too much of a jump. If it's not 5.5 is a good size too if they want a huge phone.

People want big phones are just compensating for something else...

But we dont like to talk about that in public :p

And in my mind, 5" for a phone is not "big", perfect size. Once we start talking about 6" and beyond, now those are big phones...
