iPhone 5S Failproof Ordering?

Last year I had this very same issue. I preordered and was set to wait on receiving my iPhone 5. My wife ended up getting off early from work on launch day and headed to the mall where our Apple Store is so I got the itch to have her see if they had any of my model in stock. They did and they also had an AT&T rep in the Apple Store who assisted her in canceling my order. I had to forward her my confirmation email for them to get some info but that was it. It took about ten extra minutes on their end to get it done.

You couldn't do it yourself but as I posted someone there at the Apple Store did if for me last year with the iPhone 5.

That's reassuring. I'm sure SOMEONE can SOMEHOW cancel the existing order and manually proceed from that point, but I'm afraid of them screwing it up or saying "sorry you already have an order"

Wow.. what difference does it make from getting the phone right away or a few days later? Are you guys really that impatient?

More importantly, if you don't get an order online right away, or find one in store that day, you could easily be waiting a few weeks later, not a few days.

Personally, I'd just order it online and wait for it to come. It won't kill me to wait a few days

More importantly, if you don't get an order online right away, or find one in store that day, you could easily be waiting a few weeks later, not a few days.

This is why I want mine on day one. If shipments get pushed back a few weeks, I'll lose the price that I'm getting for my old iphone.

Same here. I think I'll attempt to see what the deal is by ordering it online first at 3 am est. Then i'll swing by the store later on and see if any are available. If so..customer support will be getting a call!
