I'd wait and see what the next SE looks like, which is rumored for Spring.

I look forward to the iPhone SE 2. I didn't think the iPhone SE would have that loyal of a following, but it's done remarkably well and it's a very good iPhone for the price point.

Although that would be nice, sometimes not upgrading the OS means missing updates and bug fixes to the core apps like Safari. This is one thing that Google got right with Android. Even though people are stuck on older version of Android, they still get updates on many of the core apps like Chrome.

I feel iOS 10 to be better behaving than iOS 9 on my iPhone 5. I would think the 5S would do better.

I've been wondering about that too. I'm on iOS 10 and things have been fine.. iOS 11 sounds nice, but I would hate to kill my 5s with it.

Yeah, when it was time to upgrade my 6, I realized I preferred the smaller form factor and went SE over the 7.

So I was extremely excited for Apple to introduce the new iPhone.. Only to see that the 8 looked exactly like the 6 - 7 iPhones and only had a wireless charging updated feature.. and that the X only had Face ID and a huge price tag. Up until then, I just knew I would be purchasing a new phone this fall. But after seeing the presentation... I'm just like.. blah.. I only have 32 GB on my iPhone 5s, but yesterday I was able to delete a bunch of pictures, messages, and apps.. And now I'm put to 3 GBs of space left... Does it sound crazy that I want to see what Apple decides to do next year? Will the 9 look just like the 8? Or will there even be a 9? Will the X get touch ID back?? I'm lost at the moment.. And at the moment not too pressed to get a new phone like I was a week ago... :(

There are a lot of open questions and what may happen next year.

Sounds to me like you may hold off for another year...nothing wrong with that.

Too many times, people get caught up in the excitement.
