But it would still move!😃 Indeed, a piece of junk. But most people still choose those (and then however invest even more “iPhone money” to keep those rust buckets moving)

That is absolutely nowhere near what actually happens here. And once again, I Live in a 3rd world country. Quit your delusion.

Now imagine next year if Apple updated the first 2007 iPhone with iOS 3: "To mark our special 20th iPhone anniversary, we updated the first iPhone with iOS 3 performance and security improvements!"

why is this neccesary?(rhetorical question)
Because there's enough devices out there running iOS 12, 15, etc to keep their services running on them. I still use both a 5s and a og iPad Air, both on iOS 12, for old games and downloaded Apple Music/podcasts. The headphone jack is pretty handy, especially coupled with the size. These devices still have life. A limited life, but a purposeful one

That's kind of remarkable. What could battery life be like after all these years?
It is excellent!

The 15.8.6 says my 6s has been at 1% for the last 48 hours and it is still going strong.
I am even tapping in to that hidden reserve of negative charge the new os found...

Still runs better than any version of iOS 26
So we're now waxing poetic about iOS 7? I mean, last i knew no one is allowed to like iOS7 because it introduced the flat art design, over glossy buttons, pinstripes background, and skeuomorphism. I think, we were still supposed to claim it was peak "planned obsolescence" too. Wasn't it the one that would deliberately slow down the phone over battery health concerns? So that everyone would be like "i need a new phone".

Remember, anything besides the current is obviously better by default, regardless of how bad the old was or good the new is lol.
