• Yes, the Pure will work with the fingerprint scanning feature of the iPhone 5S

I don't doubt that it works, but I imagine that due to the Pure's thickness, getting to the recessed fingerprint scanner would be more tedious than usual. Have you tested this yourself?

I agree. If I understood the keynote correctly, the metal ring around the home button is what senses the presence of a finger, and with the recessed home button with the Pure, it may be very difficult to make sufficient contact with the metal ring and finger.

I'm skeptical about their claim too; they don't even have a 5S to test on yet, how can they be so certain that it will not degrade the experience.

I want to believe them because so far I have REALLY liked their product on my iP5. That is why I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and I ordered one. If for some reason it doesn't work correctly I will simply return it. I will post my experience on this thread.

I am also giving them the benefit of the doubt. My order shipped yesterday. And I have heard great things about their customer service so I feel pretty confident that they will work or the company will replace it with something that does.

Hey guys,

Glad to see you are interested in ScreenGuardz Pure for the new iPhone 5S!

To answer your questions:

• Yes, the Pure will work with the fingerprint scanning feature of the iPhone 5S

• Regarding the thickness: The Pure is designed at the thickness of .4mm because it was engineered to be "screen protection", rather than just a screen protector.

This is far too thick. They need to offer something thinner than that and let the consumer decide. .4mm makes a huge gap over the home button and just doesn't feel right. I wouldn't purchase this. But I guess that's just me. I'll take the .20mm nano over this every time.

But this isnt glass?????

The link changed because the last one was purchased. This was what I bought, but it was $10 on Amazon at the time of purchase:

Here's showing that it's currently unavailable. There were only 2 left, so after I purchased one, someone got the other one.

Ah I see, there was a review on YouTube for this one, looks quite thick for the 5S tho...
Also, I'm in the UK... It's rubbish over here for stuff, everything has to be imported.

I don't suppose anyone has tried this yet on their iPhone 5s?
I haven't even tried sourcing any in the UK, though. :p

Again, a biased opinion here, but I personally installed one of our ScreenGuardz Pure on my new iPhone 5s this morning, and it works beautifully with the fingerprint scanning technology.

Hopefully you can get an un-biased opinion from someone else soon, but feel free to take my word for what it's worth ;)

Hm, there's quite a gap between the glass edge and the actual edge of the phone, which concerns me. Still, I agree with the premise of the product, I'd much rather have glass I can replace. Plastic screen protectors have done me fine over the years, though.

I would like to hear about these glass protectors, as well. Will they really be noticed when using TouchID?

I think the real factor is going to be the thickness of the glass.
Spigen Nano Glas - 0.22mm You can definitely feel the lip but it really is no bother it's like how it would be if you had a plastic protector on there.

Spigen Original Glas - 0.4mm You would notice a lot more.

Nope. I put the screen protector on the phone before i set up Touch ID so my experience of it is slightly recessed, I know no different.

Also your skin conforms to fill the gap so its not like you have to push in your thumb/finger you just simply rest ontop.

I have the Mime feather glass, its the thinnest glass protector 0.15mm and it doesnt get in the way of the scanner.

I had a lot of my customers setup Touch ID before installing their Bodyguardz today. No problems of any kind with it once installed! Need to get one of my own, what a neat protector!

I read the Spigen Nano had a bevel around where the home button is. Is that the version you have Holmes? Any good pics of the bevel?

According to his glass screen protector package, it says 0.2 mm. That would correspond to the glas.t nano slim, which does not have rounded edges. The one with beveled (do you mean rounded?) edges would be a glas.tR in it's regular, slim, or nano slim variants.

Thank you? for trying to clarfiying my question for me. Im aware of the "rounded" edges. I have a glas.tr on an iphone 5. I guess I meant "tapered" and not "beveled". As you can see on the box in this link for the .tr nano slim it shows a "tapered" home button. Thats what my inquiry was about.
