Yup, but I had a paperclip handy just in case. Unlike past purchases requiring one, I actually put it back in the original box so I had it for future use if needed.

Excellent, thanks. I heard US customers didn't get them, but I guess you're expected to get a contract there.

The whole process is different down there having to more or less buy online phones tied to a carrier. Of course up here, we can't buy a TELUS/Bell/Rogers specific phone online. Unlocked only.

That's impressive. Hard to believe they actually had gold. A lot of hype over that colour. Apple must be catching up.

Yeah.. my friend popped down earlier today, waited 30mins in line and was able to walk out with a 32gb gold. Was around 2:30pm or something but damn was she excited, ordered online but was still processing.

I know in Calgary both stores have had low to no stock on all colours and sizes. Not sure if that's still the case.

Apple.ca store survey

I received a survey re: iPhone 5s ordering experience. I checked completely dissatisfied with time to process/ship products.

I said "It appeared that no Canadian order was shipped within 1-3 business days unlike in the US store. If Apple does not have stock for other markets, then it should not open for orders so that customers do not place them hoping the products will ship almost immediately."

Would you have preferred that Canada was left off the first wave and we'd get immediate shopping weeks later in the following wave of releases?

I ordered a 16GB silver 5S for Virgin Mobile through a WirelessWave store on Monday and it shipped today, hopefully it will arrive at the store early next week!

I don't know what is wrong with the shipping in northern Alberta but its complete bs .. My phone arrived in Edmonton 3:55 Wednesday Morning, UPS had on the tracking thing that it will be Delivered October 3rd by 3 pm that never happened. It douse not take 3 days for a package to be sent 500 kms north. who ever is supposed to deliver the phone has failed miserably.. I know when ever I got a package from Fedex I always got in when i was supposed to. anyone else in the same boat?

Just give apple a call, tell them how you had to make arrangements so you could stay home and get the phone and how much of a inconvenience it caused you. Maybe they give you a free case or speaker dock for compensation.

Apple Would not do anything because its in the Courier hands nowthey said .. I called ups and they told me Purolator has it now but that douse not change the fact that it was not Delivered when it was supposed to be and has not been delivered yet.

The problem is with the courier and not Apple though. So may people seem to feel Apple has control over their delivery network. They don't.

Sorry to hear it's taking too long. That happens in remote communities.

At the rate my position in Fido's reservation queue is moving, I won't have my 32gb gold until January, but I simply don't have the time to drop by any of the local Apple stores in the morning... :/

wow... is it really that bad, when reserving through carriers? you will be receiving a 3+ month old device.

Anyone ever order through smartcell.ca? They're an authorized Telus retailer. I ordered through them because I'm eligible for a corporate plan that they offer, but they provide no way of checking the status of your order. A week ago I emailed them for information and all they said is that they're awaiting stock. If you try to order a 5s from them now it says there's an 8 week wait. Yesterday it said 4 weeks... I think that they might not be getting stock for a long while.

I have a 5s on order (online), I think I might just go to Square One in the morning and get one (if they have it) and cancel my online order.

Mine is sitting in China, were it not for the 1.25% cash back from RFD (lol) I probably would have just tried my luck at a B&M.

Is it any better reserving through Apple.com? From what I can tell people who ordered 09/20 are still waiting for their phones, for the gold 32gb model.

Rogers queue finally moved down about 200 spots yesterday, hoping it continues like that.

Nope got my gold 32gb couple weeks ago. Ordered it on 9/20.

Hmmm, much better than the US orders then, it seems.

Anyway, I want my discounted upgrade so ordering through Apple.com isn't an option :p I can always cancel my reservation or not pick it up if I decide I've waited too long.
