About time to upgrade for me as I was using my iPhone 4 for the last almost 3 years

I've ordered my 5S 16GB in gray on 10/04 and it's planed to ship 10/18 with delivery 10/25 in Germany. Pretty lucky I guess. Some users have delivery dates of 11/6 or later and have ordered 9/21 or 9/22.

This just proves that most people will buy value over price. With all the constant crying on this list over the past several years about how expensive iPhones are, now that inexpensive iPhones are available, very few whiners will buy. As a result Apple has had to focus 100% of its advertising on the 5c in a attempt to get sales. This will likely steer Apple away from ever offering an inexpensive anything.

The 5C is not an inexpensive iPhone! It's still $549 - about the same as a Samsung Galaxy S4 or another Android flagship. I bought it, but not to save $100, rather because it was cuter. I'd have paid $100 more to get the better camera if it came in the same plastic case.

Now, if it was an inexpensive iPhone - say $399 or even $449, I bet the 5C would be selling in droves.

5S Availability

Supplies of the 5S aren't as dried up as these articles makes it out to be. There are a lot of 5S available in areas that do not have population density problems. I just bought a Verizon 64gb, 32gb, and a 16gb within a week. I saw 5 more in the cabinet as well. People are in one of three categories: too picky about color, not smart enough to find them, or on the wrong carrier. Pre-Order from apple is one of the worse ways to go in my opinion since I have walked into a Best Buy Mobile and had one in my hand before a friend that pre-ordered. There needs to be more responsible reporting on these issues.

Ordered a 64GB Space Grey on 9th October, shipping is expected on the 18th and delivery on the 25th. So 16 days.

Update: It actually shipped on 10/14 with UPS, tracking info says it'll be delivered on 10/18 So, that's not bad at all... Lot better than I expected

Also waiting for gold

Still waiting since 9/20 @10 am PT for a 64gb gold AT&T. I've had my SENA magnetic flipper leather case for two weeks looking to hide the gold within it. Color didn't matter to me, I just unfortunately picked gold, like Apple, I was unaware that it would be in such demand.

I ordered a 32GB gold AT&T on 9/21 at 9:30 a.m. Am told it will be available for shipping 10/24-28 with a delivery date on or before 11/4.

Gold is vulgar and tacky - who wants a bling phone - especially when any sensible person keeps the phone in a case that covers the body and protects the screen.

I ordered a space grey 64gb from Apple on 20 September and received the phone on 1st October - am delighted with it - a worthy upgrade from my trusty 4S.

Am using 3's sim only plan £15 a month for unlimited data and tethering and 4G from December

And who wants a bling phone? You serious? That model was sold out EVERYWHERE. So I'm guessing M O S T people wanted it, that's who.

Gold, is best, best best best!
Also, I keep my Gold iPhone in a clear case. I can see the phone just fine, and it looks pretty.
