So, basically, shipping changed from sometime in October to sometime in October. Awesome reporting.

Three weeks could be November 1st :D

Yeah...time to order one so I can see it crash every 5 seconds....beautiful blue screens and lightning fast, rapidly quitting apps. WOW.

But at least the screen is a 'perfect' blue (see other threads);)

Still waiting for my blue screen, and it only crashed twice (both times, during first 24 hour, never since) ((My other two iPhones before this crashed from time to time, not very often))

Ouch! Sorry bro. But, GOLD IS BEST! :D

Gold is vulgar and tacky - who wants a bling phone - especially when any sensible person keeps the phone in a case that covers the body and protects the screen.

I ordered a space grey 64gb from Apple on 20 September and received the phone on 1st October - am delighted with it - a worthy upgrade from my trusty 4S.

Am using 3's sim only plan £15 a month for unlimited data and tethering and 4G from December

I almost clicked on buy at Amazon on one of those a couple of days ago but double checked the negative reviews and compared with reviews at other retailers. All seemed to concur: The Otterbox will scratch up the sides of your iPhone - both from the hard plastic interior and from dust and grit ingress.

The one I have has a rubber interior, as for scratches from dust, well that would be the same for just about any cover.

Look I love the iPhone design but being so thin I feel I'm going to drop it every time I pick it up, with a cover like this it gives a bit more bulk to hold onto.

Why does it matter? You care what strangers think of your phone? Anyway, having a new iPhone in July 2007 was very impressive, having a new iPhone in 2013 is not.

That matters about as much as a "First" post, But it was "liked" because you mentioned the iPhone 6 which will be a popular topic for the next year.

I am one of the nine "likes" and one of the "trashes" so what does that prove? :p

Nah, you didn't trash it. Your response was quite mild compared to some of the others.

I wish ATT had a way to allow upgrades every year. It hurts the tech geek in me waiting every two years.

Someone is paying for the $450 (of the $650 phone) either it's AT&T (or Verizon, or Sprint, or T-Mobile, etc) or it's you (along with the $200 you always pay for)

Actually, it is always you (since you agree to stay with AT&T {or whomever} for 24 monthly bills in exchange for $450)

Ordered mine launch day, got it 2nd oct. 16gb gold. Nice phone. But seriously with all the heat it's packing under the hood I wonder what the heck they limit it to such a dingy little screen. I'd rather have that in my iPad or GN2 lol

I think whatever enhancements are present in the 5S aren't really going to present themselves until the internals are in a larger device. Sure safari renders pages lightning quick in desktop mode but what good are they if you can't click the link because the writing is to small?

I guess one thing that was nice over last years phone is at least this one didn't come all scratched up from the factory only to be told by apple "it's normal" lol

I dropped mine the first time I opened the box, so it is no longer pristine. There is such a thing as too thin and I miss the solidity of my iPhone 4. I had a Speck Pixelskin on that that let no dust through but reviews seem to agree that the same cover for the iPhone 5 is a poor relation - largely due to the thinner dimensions of the phone's not allowing a good enough purchase for the cover to stay on.

So, I guess this may actually mean shipping times are increasing. You know, I find it absolutely amazing there are 2-3x more 5S activations than 5c activations (depending on the source). Seems like you have better chance of finding a $100 bill on the ground than getting a 5S.

Apple consumers have a long history up buying out the top end of a product line at the start of general sales. Wait 'til holiday season when I'm sure the 5C will start to catch up in volume very quick.

There are a lot of people who do want the gold phone, and a lot of people who do not use a case for any iPhone

We shall see. I guess we shouldn't have expected there to be sell-outs or lines for a phone that has been basically available for over a year, but sadly Apple did.

I originally thought so too, until I actually saw it. It's tastefully done and really isn't flashy at all. I have one now and use a see-through case, the same I used on my iPhone 5.

That's why they have ATT Next. Upgrades every year.

Simple. And the scam of AT&T Next isn't needed. Sell your old phone to Gazelle/iCracked/Whatever and you can buy a new phone for "full upgrade" prices. Sell it via eBay or Craigslist and you basically get a completely free iPhone.

I'm sitting here looking at my new 5S I got from Sprint a couple weeks ago, and that's about all I can do with it. I hated Sprint, cancelled my account, and went back to Verizon. Found out today my VZW 5S won't ship until the 21st. I'm using an old Samsung flip phone in the meantime. I want a working 5S, and I want it now!

I still blame the week-long national holiday in China for this. You'd think Apple would have planned around it.

Ordered mine on 9/30. Just got the message today that it has been shipped and should be here in 11 days. 11 days...I wondered why would it take so long to ship a phone. Looked at the tracking info...it was shipped UPS today...from China!!!

I am wondering, if UPS is shipping in batches... I would imagine that's faster than shipping each individually to different points of the world as they are made.

Or... the govt shutdown is taking a toll on CBP and customs clearing items?

5s

I ordered the iPhone 5s 64 in Gold on the first day. I was told it won't arrive until the end of October into November. What is the problem with Apple that they can't anticipate demand and produce enough for their customers? I think Phil Schiller must go!

The gold is not vulgar and tacky; I was surprised by how elegant it looked in person. Yes, had I gotten it, I would have put it in a case, but after two black iPhones (4 and 4S), I was interested in getting something different. The White/Silver also is a great looking phone, but I probably would have gotten the gold one over it.

I ended up with a Space Grey instead because one was available locally the day I decided to upgrade my 4S, so I just placed the in store pick-up order a couple of weeks ago and got it.

Still waiting since 9/20 @10 am PT for a 64gb gold AT&T. I've had my SENA magnetic flipper leather case for two weeks looking to hide the gold within it. Color didn't matter to me, I just unfortunately picked gold, like Apple, I was unaware that it would be in such demand.
