I am secretly hoping that they would do online orders and in-store pick up later in the day. But it doesn't seem possible if done through the Apple Online Store.

I'm going to buy me an iphone 5s. But I live in Norway, so the iphone 5s dosnt not come until December. Is there any way and buy an unlocked iphone from UK

Yes. Visit the an Apple store in the UK. If you are very lucky, maybe also from a third party seller on Amazon.co.uk, although probably not for several weeks.

The problem is, if it develops a fault, you will have to return it to the UK. I cannot imagine Eplehuset or any other Norwegian retailer dealing with a phone that is not officially on sale in Norway.

Why are people surprised that you can order the iPhone 5S on release day?? It's release day, so one would assume you can order a phone on that day??
Or am I missing something???

I'm only in 4 months of an 18 month contract (you can buy out anytime).

Just 4 months. You must not be paying a lot a month then? I'm on a t-mobile full monty tariff 24 months which is £36 a month and I've got just over a year left which would cost me £468.

I guess that it must be BST then if everyone got the same email. I wonder if they will guarantee Monday delivery. Or will they despatch on Monday?

I have also had the same email that says 12:01 BST. This is why I will be staying up until late to order one. Just hope the site doesn't crash :(

Hey, Paul. I don't pay much, I pay £26.00 a month, but I get 1GB (instead of 500MB shown on their website).

As far as I've always experienced; the buyout fee isn't (£) line rental * remaining month(s) left of contract, it's always a little lower.

So for example; I pay £26.00 a month, but my buy-out fee is £345.10 with 14 months remaining (£345.10 / 14 = £24.65) vs (£26.00 * 14 = £364), so there's a difference of £18.90.

Also; if you're at all interested in moving to EE from T-Mobile and you're looking to pay the same each month (£36.00), you could move to EE's 36 plan and get unlimited calls/text and 1.5GB of data a month, but you can also get 33% off your current line rental with T-Mobile if you wish to buy-out your contract, so instead of you paying £468, you'd only have to pay £313.56 (£154.44 difference).

P.S. depending on how good you are at bargaining; it's possible to get the EE 41 (2GB data) for the same price as the EE 36 plan, it just takes time and the right agent on the phone. Also, a quick note... depending on what phone you have, you can sell it for £200 - £400 and put that towards the buy-out fee.

EE said:
If you’ve been with T-Mobile or Orange for at least six months, we’ll give you a 33% discount on your remaining monthly payments when you move to EE using Early Upgrade.

Why not just buy a SIM free phone and sell the one you got with your contract?

I think that's what I'm gonna do. I just rang T-mobile. To end my contract early it's £385.14 then to start a new contract on EE for the same amount a month and the handset will cost £349-99 plus a new case which is £35 so it's gonna cost me £770.13 If I buy sim free the 5S is £709-00 plus a new case £35 which will cost me £744-00 so a saving of £26-13.

The only drawback I can see is as I'm still on T-mobile I won't have any 4g which will only be for another year then I can change contracts at the end of next year.

What would you guys do? for the extra £26 I could have 4g but then is it really that much faster?

The EE site has a deal for in-contract orange and tmobile customers who want to switch to 4g

I think that's what I'm gonna do. I just rang T-mobile. To end my contract earl... [snip]?

See the post above, if you move from T-Mobile to EE, they give you a 33% discount on your buy-out fee and a 16GB phone is like £99.99 upfront (or something similar, depending on which plan).

I think 4G is worth it (in my area at least, we have pretty good coverage), but some others are fine on 3G, I'd check your coverage first.

I can get 4g in my area so I'm thinking it might be worth it. Plus I think I only get either 500mb or 1gb of data a month.

Anyone know if it's possible to order online on the 20th for pickup on the same day?

I think its already been discussed in this thread. From some people are saying who have spoken to Apple customer service they are not going to offer this option. I would take that with a pinch of salt though as they may still offer that as an option.

They simply can't do reserve and collect. The shop stock will be limited and could entirely be taken up by online orders.

They offer this once demand has died down and they know they can service the 5 or so reservations they receive each day with stock.

I can say with 100% certainty they will not offer reserve and collect for at least a month.
